Anabelle awoke light headed in what she thought was a public hospital bed. Her eyesight was blurry and unfocused, so she blinked a few times and looked next to her to see her mother sitting in a chair, with a serious look on her face.
"Mom?" She stood up and walked over to Anabelle.
"Hi sweetie." She smiled, but Anabelle could tell that something was wrong. "Mom, I had this horrible dream that... that I turned into a cow!" She frowned as Anabelle finished her sentence. Sitting down in a chair, she took a deep breath, and said:
"That wasn't a dream."
Anabelle began breathing heavily. What do you mean it wasn't a dream?" She sat up and looked at her own body in horror. There was brown fur everywhere, she had an udder, and her jacket and jeans lay on the end of the bed in shreds.
"No. No, I can't be. I can't be a cow! I'M ANABELLE! I'M NOT A COW!!! I'M A HUMAN GIRL!!!" She began sobbing into her hands. Her mother sat by her and comforted her. She told her everything about the serum and her special DNA.
"But... but why would someone want a half cow?" Her mother sighed. "I don't know, I guess..." She was cut off as a scientist entered the room. "Hello, Anabelle." he said, smiling. "Now, I know you're going through a horrible time here, but I do have some good news." He took her to a room with many computers in it. "Now, we believe that if you concentrate, you'll be able to trigger a reaction in your DNA." Anabelle began to stop crying. "So... what does that mean?" "It means that you should be able to transform yourself." She looked at him hopefully. "Can I turn human again?" The scientist smiled. "You'll be able to change any of your cow parts to human parts, or human parts to cow parts." He led her and her mother to the exit. He talked to her mother about what she should do, and then they got in the car and started driving home.
