Brian did not hesitate. "I want to be human again. No more playing around with weird stuff."
The wizard nodded. "Unimaginative, and not too bright. You realize I could make you an old man or a newborn infant, or a tavern slut and still meet those requirements?" He smiled slightly at Brian's alarmed look. "But I also agreed to keep you useful." He concentrated on the elf and spoke some harsh sounds.
Brian felt a throbbing in his chest, followed by warmth that spread outward. At first, nothing seemed to change, but then he started to get bigger.
Tye grinned at the wizard. "I hope you don't make this too good - I don't want to encourage him to mess around."
"Oh, no worries there." The wizard grinned and watched Brian change. "Useful, unimaginative, and not too bright."
That caught Brian's attention. "Hey! Wait minute!" But it was obvious that his transformation was well under way. His ears had already rounded and elven features softened into those of a human boy. He was getting larger, not just maturing, but changing body type. His body thickened with muscle and stronger bones. The small slender elven sexual equipment also thickened and matured. Brian watched his package grow with obvious delight, oblivious to other changes that were possibly less positive.
His brows got more pronounced, his nose flattened, teeth got larger and more prominent. His forehead dropped back as his skull seemed to deflate a little, hands and feet disproportionately large and arms unusually long. He began to resemble a gorilla, still human, but brutish and powerful. When the change finally stopped, he was a horse-hung young man of about 20, looking like a football coach's dream linebacker. His eyes seemed to cloud over as intelligence dimmed. Curiously, he was still easily recognizable to anyone who knew him.
The wizard muttered again, and Brian was suddenly outfitted as a barbarian fighter, a crude loincloth and sandals as his only clothing, and a massive broadsword strapped to his back. A leather headband kept long, dark and dirty hair back from his ugly face. The former elf looked a bit confused, staring at himself, but then shrugged and looked at Tye. "What you want me to do now?"
Tye nodded in appreciation. "Useful, unimaginative, and not too bright. A big dumb fighter who will charge into a fight and follow orders without question. Perfect!"
Brian wrinkled his thick, shaggy brows. "Huh?"
"Go on back to the others. They'll need to start off soon. Tell them you found the wizard. I expect they'll guess that, though." Tye grinned. "I'll be along shortly."
