The new Mr. Jacob Perth (formerly Jacob the Horse) looked at his new now-human wife as they thought about what to do next. That was when he noticed her shivering as a wind blew through the open door.
“Are you okay dear?” He asked her.
“Cold.” She answered with her arms wrapped around her bare body. “No fur to hold back the wind.”
“Then let’s head inside their, our, house now.” Jacob replied as he took her in one arm and led them out of the stable and into the house, noticing how sensitive his feet were when compared to his old hooves, able to feel the ground and what was on it through his new soles.
Inside the house, they were quick to make for what was now their bedroom, eager to see what there was. In short time, they had something to wear. For him, a black sweater over dungarees with heavy black boots. For her, a summer floral dress with sneakers.
“This helps.” She admitted. “But I still miss my old ass.” She added with a hand running over it.
“Well that can be dealt with, once we decide on what to do.” He reassured her. “I do wish I knew why these suitcases are out and filled though.”
That wish brought the information into his mind. His old owner had been planning a week-long vacation with his wife at a mountain retreat some hours drive away.
“Okay, the once-master was going somewhere, I know where. A mountain home with his wife.”
“Really, can we go there instead?”
“Of course! I wish that these suitcases were closed, and in the truck he was planning to drive there.” That wish made, they were already gone, sitting patiently in the back of the truck in question. “So, shall we?”
They left the house, not needing to lock it since Jacob knew that their “daughter” had her own keys, and he already had a plan to take care of his “owners” wife.
As they got into the truck, Jacob put his plan into action. “I wish that the moment my old owners wife drives in, she parks the car, exits it, then immediately turns into a horse, which is unseen. I also wish I knew exactly how to drive this truck.” With the knowledge of how to drive a truck in his mind, he fired up the engine, pointed its nose out of the farm, and they left it behind them as they began the many-hour trek to where they could relax, have each other, and decide on what to do in peace and quiet.
