You wake feeling slightly better now that you have gotten some rest. You are disappointed to note that your nose has not changed since the night before, although you were hoping all the events from yesterday were just a bad dream. Nevertheless, since it is real, you hope your plan to hide in a crowd of dog noses created by your Bod-spritzed candles has worked. You are so busy congratulating yourself on that bright idea that you fail to notice that it is eerily quiet outside.
Your canine nose twitches with pleasure as you prepare bacon as part of your breakfast, and you salivate at the overpoweringly wonderful smell. You manage to hold yourself in check until your meal is fully cooked, then turn on the television as you sit down to eat. You catch the news broadcast from somewhere in the middle.
"...and as you can see, the entire town has been cordoned off. Authorities are not letting anyone in or out, and residents are being warned not to panic and to stay indoors. There has been no information released thus far as to the nature of the contagion, but teams from the CDC appear to be going house to house and inspecting residents for symptoms. As far as we can tell, there has been no obvious link amongst those who have been quarantined thus far other than they all appear to have shopped within this metropolitan area. And now, back to the studio," the reporter said matter-of-factly, standing in front of roadblocks in a rather familiar area.
No, it couldn't be... you think to yourself, a sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach. Your suspicions are soon confirmed when a map of the town where you live pops up on the television screen, a large red box indicating the quarantine area. What have you done?
You strongly suspect you and your container of BOD are to blame for this sudden quarantine, although you have no way of knowing for sure. However, since the CDC is going door to door, it is very likely you will soon be found out. Since the news did not release any details on the status of the individuals with symptoms, you cannot be certain if you will receive favorable treatment or be carted off to a government lab somewhere. Either way, if you are found out as the source of the problem, it is extremely unlikely you will escape the situation unscathed. Hurriedly, you rush to where you left the container of BOD and try to think of a way to hide it. While you are reluctant to throw it away since it might prove useful, you definitely need a place to secure it. You place it in a Ziploc bag, sneak around outside into your backyard, and bury it in a place you are sure to find it again.
Satisfied that one problem has been dealt with, you move on to more pressing matters. It is unlikely you will be able to hide your nose from the CDC inspectors, so you decide the best course of action is to claim that your transformation occurred last night after you went shopping. After all, you did go to the store where the candles were sold, so it would be plausible that you were an innocent victim. While you are mulling over your story, you catch an unfamiliar scent wafting in from outside, and hear a slight noise outside your door.
