Zoe picked the guitar up, it looked almost brand new. "Why would anyone want to throw this away?" She thought as she climbed back up to the bridge. Walking home with the guitar in her hands, she began to feel something emanate from the instrument and the urge to play it. "I guess I could at least try it out" Zoe said as she wandered off to the park nearby.
The park was deserted of people and was quiet. Holding the guitar up, she plucked each string individually "Hmm still sounds in tune" she pulled out her pick and began strumming. An overwhelming feeling took her as she felt so right as each string gave off a sound, so Zoe began playing chords and eventually riffs.
When she stopped playing, shock took her as day was ending. Checking her cell phone, it read 20:38 "Oh crap." As she picked everything up and ran home.
A note on the table beside dinner
Zoe, I hope your audition went well. Your father and I have popped out to meet up with our friends from church. If you want to play your guitar in the garage, please keep the volume down. You know how cranky Mr Linden is. We will be home late
Love mum
Not feeling hungry Zoe just wrapped the dinner and put it in the fridge. "I suppose I could really give this a try". Opening the garage, her amps, peddles and leads we're where she left them. Picking her best lead and plugging it into an amp, a smile crept across her face as she looked at the black instrument with red strings. Plugging it in and switching the amp on, she began to once again strum. A strange, yet soothing noise came out from the amp followed by Zoe playing a few riffs.
