"By the way, my name is Loki."
"Are you responsible for all this? Freezing everyone?" Laura asked.
"Yes, I am. Cool, isn't it?"
"No, it's not cool! Stop all of this right now! And bring back my fiancee!"
"But your fiancee is right here," Loki said, gesturing towards Julie.
"That's my maid of honor!"
"Not anymore," Loki said. He snapped his fingers and suddenly, Julie was dressed in a beautiful white wedding gown, just like Laura was.
"What are you doing?" Laura asked, her eyes wide.
"Just giving your fiancee the correct attire for the occasion."
"That's not my fiancee! What do you think I am? A lesbian?"
"That's exactly what you are ... now."
"What?" she asked, shocked and confused. How could any of this be happening? This had to be a nightmare. Any moment now she was going to wake up, she was sure of it.
"Nope, this isn't a nightmare," Loki said.
"Are ... are you hearing my thoughts?"
"Yes, I am. But don't worry too much. In a few moments, you'll think of this wedding as a fantastic dream come true."
"No way. Lesbians are perverted and disgusting. My mother even told me so."
"You do everything your mother tells you, huh? Live your life by example? Then so be it." Loki snapped his fingers and Laura gasped at what she saw in the seating area. Now, instead of seeing her mother and father holding hands and smiling up at her, she saw her mother and another woman holding hands and smiling instead!
"What ... what did you just do?"
"Oh, I turned your father into a woman and made her and your mother lesbians. They're a happy, loving, and proud married lesbian couple. And in a few moments, you and Julie will be too."
Laura wanted to close her eyes and wish herself away, but she just couldn't wake herself from this nightmare. Whoever this Loki guy was, he was ruining her life!
"Okay, enough of this chitchat. I think we're all ready to get things moving," Loki said, sounding a little bored.
"No, wait!" Laura yelled, then suddenly, time began moving again. She looked back at Julie and saw that the woman, her best friend since elementary school, gazed at her lovingly. She apparently didn't notice that she was suddenly wearing a wedding gown ... or maybe it was that she knew, but expected it? Could it really be true that Loki had turned Julie into a lesbian?
The voice of the priest diverted her attention. She expected to hear the voice of Reverend Mitchell, but instead, it was a woman. She turned and saw a female priest, with one of those LGBT rainbow-colored sashes around her neck. "I now pronounce you woman and wife," the priest said. "You may now kiss the bride."
Julie smiled, then leaned in to kiss Laura.
