Upon arriving, William was swarmed by panicked team-mates. "Will, we have a colossal problem! Even with us reporting directly to God for this operation, 'he' eared the news about your succubus."
Before Janith got any chance to ask who the so feared 'he' was, a voice as loud as she was angry resonated. "ANGEL DAVID! EVEN IF 'HE' IS A GARGOYLE, 'HE' STILL GOT A NAME! THAT NAME IS RICHARD STONE! SO TRY TO REMEMBER IT, AND REMEMBER TO USE IT!" And then added. "And bring me that filthy succubus as soon as she's here! So I can interrogate her and prove to that brainless bunch you are that she is another hellish jerk, just better at acting, and NOTHING ELSE."
Fulminating, William advanced in the gargoyle's direction, stomping. Fearing she might worsen her case by staying behind, and hoping she might find a way to calm down her husband, Janith followed.
As soon as he was inside the interrogation room, the archangel spoke in a voice so eerily calm that you need to be a gargoyle to not shiver. "Hello, 'stone-heart'. I'm sure you know the all-father said my team was to answer DIRECTLY to him when it come to the present mater. He also insisted that we should NOT, in any circumstance, let his personal assistant know about it. So, why said personal assistant landed his granite ass in my interrogation room, asking about a demoness he should not even know existed?"
"As the personal assistant of God, my duties are to do why I judge being in his best interest, even if it's against his orders." Answered Richard. "It also mean that I need to know every secrets he got, particularly the ones he want to hide from me."
"And as long as you act fairly with everyone, it IS a good thing. But sentencing my wife as guilty without giving her any chance to prove otherwise isn't fair to her, Mr. Stone." Countered the archangel.
"Oh, it is unfortunate that… Wait… Did. You. Just. Said. WIFE!?! Since when?! What about Jane?!?" Rambled the gargoyle.
"THAT'S the thing!" Interrupted the demoness. "Jane is my human identity! Well… Was now, I suppose…" She then looked greatly ashamed by her outburst.
Between that and the way she looked at William's hand, wanting the comfort it procure to be hand in hand with her lover, Richard Stone was puzzled. Why this succubus did not grab her husband's hand? Why was she so unsure she should? And the way William himself was acting isn't less puzzling. The only thing more obvious take his wife in a comforting hug was is desire to punch the gargoyle. But we feared that wouldn't help at all against the stubbornly headstrong gargoyle.
Said gargoyle started to think that, maybe, Jane truly wasn't as bad as succubi usually are. But he still needed proof, and not only to prevent anything unworthy to enter paradise. No, without said proof, by existing alone will she spread mistrust in god's ranks. "Does that mean that Jane, described as 'even more nice and honest than Maria' by our beloved Willy, was just an act?" To everyone present, Richard was still as stone-faced as ever. But he was internally smirking.
"Since knowing Will, I only lied about two thing: being a demoness, and my name. Even what I looked like as Jane was, essentially, an humanized version of my true self." Then, blushing, she muttered "That can't be 'that' Maria…"
"If by 'that Maria' you mean 'the Christ's mother', then yes." Said William, before adding "And your blush is even more cute on your hellish self, with your cheeks turning black." making his beloved succubus blush even more.
"But you weren't as honest has he was thinking." Insisted god's stone servant. "Speaking of honesty, can we know much people have you enthralled since you wedding? And how much of those thrall died?"
"I stopped needing to enthrall when I was DATING Will. His love alone is far more than I need to be well feed."
"You feed on love, not lust?!?" Exclaimed a surprised William. "We all believed succubi to eat souls and lust!"
"We can feed on both. Most succubi prefer the taste of lust, but preferring love isn't unheard of." Explained Janith. "The strange part is how filling Willy's love. That and the fact that, since last week, my patients gratefulness suddenly seemed to be able to nourish me."
That last revelation, Richard Stone burst out laughing. He laughed so much than he fell from the table. He got is proof that Jane really was as kind and good as she seemed. He was about to say as much, when a new voice angrily shouted the gargoyle's name.
