Katie took Mary Elise's diminished hand. "Come on, we should get some fitting clothes before we do anything else."
Mary agreed and together the two ten year old's tiptoed to Katie's old bedroom. Seeing the much younger room, Mary Elise was surprised. "This looks like a pre-kindergartener's room."
"Well I was ...sorta," Katie said. "Its a long story." She shut the door behind her and told Mary everything, about herself, her mother, the ring and the changes.
Mary listened while she perused the new clothes Katie had bought. "So...your mom...is back to normal now, and the others, they were all grown ups once?"
"Yeah but no longer. I changed mom almost back to a baby,b ut that was a mistake. I dont want her to get in our way again, but I can't make her too little or else I'll disappear. I figured I'd make her my twin again, only slightly younger so she wouldn't be so snotty. The same with the other girls. Your the only one I have told or plan to tell."
Katie slipped herself into a set of jeans with rinestones tailored on the sides into the image of a flower and a pink blouse with a picture of a cartoon character on it. She slipped her feet into a pair of sandals and smiled. "ITs weird, these are things I always wanted to wear when I was little but Mom said they were only for big girls."
"Well your a big girl now," Mary said. "Just look at me, I was a grown up not a few minutes ago, now Im going to be wearing kids clothes. I cant decide!"
"Well just depends, I mean, what were you like as a kid?"
"Well, I was a tomboy, I never wore dresses." Mary Elise said. "Maybe this is my chance."
