Era adjustment? You aren't sure what that means but it sounds like it could be interesting, so you press that option on the primitive touchscreen. The video of yourself disappears, and is replaced by a series of stills of the last frame of yourself before you pressed the Era Adjustment option (not a very flattering picture since it has you reaching out toward the camera while blinking). After a moment of examination you realize that each of the photos is slightly different, and has a label below it. 1990s, 1980s, 1970s... and in each of the photos you look like you're wearing different clothes from that decade. Weird, how'd they do that? From the 1960s back, the pictures are in black and white, getting more sepia the further back you go. The display takes you back to the beginning of the 20th century, and, curious, you press the "Next" button to see more options, only to get an even bigger surprise. While the first couple seemed to be even more old-fashioned photos (daguerreotypes, you remember them being called) with you in Victorian clothes, beyond that the pictures seemed to be paintings instead, in a wide variety of historical styles, with you in clothes from those times. Baroque paintings, Renaissance paintings, Chinese and Japanese paintings... wow, even pictures in the syles of ancient things like a Roman frieze, an Egyptian scroll, and even a cave painting. Each one had an appropriate background, too. It reminded you of how theme parks and things like that would have you dress up in a themed costume and stand in front of a backdrop to get your picture taken; this was like that except that it the costume and the backdrop were all in the booth, or the booth's computer.
You grinned, this was much cooler than you thought it would be. The booth's software was clearly much more powerful and sophisticated than the outside of the booth had suggested. You just had to get one of those pictures to show your friends. Hell, you'd get more than one, although you still had to pick one to start, so you might as well start with the coolest.
