"I am going to change my own clothes," Katie said. "I've already been ten and I want to spice things up a bit this time, but I have to be careful with Mom. I can't afford to dissapear.."
Mary Else nodded. "That would leave everyone of us in a big lurch. I mean, I remember being an adult, but he rest don't"
Katie pondered, "Do you know whether or not everyone has a family now, according to the changes?"
Mary thought about it, "I am not sure. Part of me tells myself that I came over here for a sleepover, but after that things get fuzzy."
"We'll have to find out how the ring has changed our new lives, where we live and stuff. I don't just want to send all the girls home to have them go to their old houses and find strange people and stuff living there, their real families long gone."
"Right," Mary Elise said. "Maybe you can use the ring to change that. For now though, I want to see what ten year old Katie would wear."
Katie smiled. Mary Elise was very thoughtful, and she was glad she had her insights on the ring now. She was thinking of things that Katie herself had never consider. Closing her eyes she thought for a moment. Then she spoke her wish aloud. "I wish that my clothes would change to suit my current age and style as if I had always been it, but I also wish Mary Elise had a magical ring that worked the exact same way as mine did to change peoples ages and lives."
Katie felt the ring warm, and it warmed in a way that was hotter than before but not unpleasant. She opened her eyes and watched as her own oversized clothes began to change, the jeans vanishing as her oversized shirt drifted up to just above her ankles. The sleeves lengthened along her arms as the outfit itself became a nightgown, her feet caressed in small pink socks. Katie smiled, it made sense that if she was in her own house, at a sleep over, she would have her Pajamas on all ready. She heard Mary gasp and turned to see a small gold band appear on her friend's ring ringer. Katie's smile was immediate and infectious. "Looks like im not the only one with the ring now, Mary!"
