Hey! My name is Samantha Greane and I'm 19 years old. There's not much else to me, but I guess you could say I'm quite the geek. I've led quite an avarage life. When most of my classmates would meet up at some bar downtown, I'd be in my room, meeting with my friends in some MMO I was playing at the time. When the 'girly gals' as I like to call them would get excited about 'that one cute guy asking them out', I'd get excited after I beat that one tough level! So yeah, nothing out of the ordinary.
That is, until about a month ago...
The day started out as any other day. Summer vacation had just started so I didn't have any homework anymore for now. The only 'homework' I had was finding a summerjob. Being the professional procrastinator that I am though, I just started mindlessly browsing the internet. Some images of cats here, some random video about batman eating a hotdog there... The usual stuff. Until suddenly, when I clicked on a different video to watch, an advertisement came up. Now, usually, I'd think nothing of it, except for the fact that I had my adblock turned on for this particular site.
I got a little weirded out, but I figured that there must have been some glitch or something. I sat through the 40 second ad, at first not really paying attention, but then, I caught a few odd things. First of all, it talked a lot about transformations. I assumed that they meant some kind of life-changing experience or something. Then there was something about 'achieve the unthinkable' or something. I knew that advertisements could get overly dramatic but this was too much, even by their standards. Still, the real shocker came when at the end of the advertisement, the guy said 'so come and visit us, Sammy!'.
Now I got really weirded out. How did that advertisement know my name?! Was it just a coincidence? Are all advertisements custom-made or something? I now knew I had to find out more! Baffled, I sat through the advertisement a second time. It turns out that they were talking about actual transformations! It showed a few examples too. One guy got turned into some big-busted blonde, and he... err... she now... looked veeery pleased about it. One girl transformed herself into a cat. One guy even transformed himself into a statue. They were all temporary changes, as they were quickly turned back too, but still, this seemed to be really happening!
At the end, they showed how to get to their store, and nope, my ears weren't lying to me. The advertisement really did call me Sammy!
I just sat there, staring at the screen for a while, thinking about what I'd just seen. I tried to shake it off as just some cleverly crafted, strangely personal ad and I proceeded to just browse the internet some more, trying to forget about the whole ordeal. A few videos about cats here, a few daily comic updates there. Then some more images of people transforming and... wait, what? This happened a few more times throughout the rest of the day, where I'd just, without thinking about it, look at transformation art. Was it really affecting me this much? I wasn't seriously thinking of going to their store was I?
I kept telling myself that until, after the fifth time I caught myself red-handed so to speak. "Fine, you win!" I shouted at no-one in particular and I began to get dressed. I was going to get to the bottom of this mysterious ad!
