Jane Pennyford was a woman of refined tastes and great wealth. Yet having her families' attained wealth she only wanted more. This was her reason in deciding to except the so called volunteers spun off from Professor Haun's experiments.
As much in love of her wealth she was also in love with of all things her dear Prince Daniel. Now she would look and stand near the pasture's gate watching the peaceful animal graze. Memories of his first days on her farm now seemed as if it were years gone bye and not just ten months.
Mares and geldings stand near their sire and stud as if all admiring Daniel's wondrous form. The Professor's serum now mixed and changed the blood, bone, muscles, and form of one 20 year old youth to this stout and hardy stallion. Her heart pangs for his touch and the soft whiny which he makes when she pets his neck and mane.
This woman in her 60's wishes only to be with Daniel and if the Professor would send her some of his serums she'd inject them in no time at all. A shaking hand raises high and with a whistle the head of Prince Daniel comes up to listen and look.
In the past the thunder of happy hoofs would have echoed the valley. Daniel would start the stampede and his mares and geldings would follow. Oh but now the stallion is in a losing battle between his human memories and the bestial instincts which govern his daily life.
"Daniel my Daniel!" moaned Miss Pennyford as she watched her love and stallion look up his mouth stuffed with green grass. A easy look about and some chewing, then dropping his head he again returns to mindless grazing. She wonders if deep inside the degraded brain of the young man now stallion lays the weeping thoughts of a boy trapped in a beastly form?
A bigger concern is that from the letters received is Daniel's human Mother is due to arrive in Devon two days from today. She will come and expect her son to know her but will Daniel know her better than what he shows to Miss Jane? A true worry, one which can cost her everything if the terrorized mother goes to the authorities. She must consider what to do then. Worse yet if she knew her deranged Husband had entered Professor's Haun's program and was even now grazing or at stud on her Cousin's farm nearby!
Turning Miss Jane walks slowly back to the great house and thinks of a plan to secure her wealth and holdings.
