"Uh, sure why not." You tell her as you continue giving the dog a playful rub behind the ears.
"Very good then. And I must say that you have hit it off nicely with Jerry here. He’s really starting to like you." The kennel lady tells you as walks over to the door to Jerry’s Kennel. "How about the two of you spend some time in his kennel while I’ll see to your friends?"
The dog stands up and trots back into his kennel, his docked tail wagging softly from side to side. Once inside he turns around and looks back at you. He woofs at you, trots right back up to you and licks your hand before trotting back into his kennel again. He obviously wants you to join him.
Peering into his kennel, you see that he has some big toys lying around. And you figure that you can pass the time with him by playing a game of fetch or tug-a-war. You then look at the sheepdog and the kennel lady.
"Okay, I’ll stay here with Jerry."
"Excellent." She tells you with a smile.
As you walk up to the kennel and prepare to go inside, the kennel lady shows you a small button on the side of the kennel.
"Now you have any problems with Jerry or if you want to be let out early, just press this button and someone will come along to take care of you. Okay?"
You nod your head and then walk inside to join your new friend, Jerry. Behind you, you hear the kennel lady close the kennel door and walk away.
Your Old English Sheepdog friend comes up to you again and rolls over onto his back. You walk over to him and squat down beside him to make petting more easier for you. But before you can even give your shaggy friend what he wants, he suddenly twists himself up and jumps on you. He knocks you flat on your back. And then he starts to happily give you a rather rough tongue bath.
"Hey! Take it easy!" You try to say between licks.
You try to twist your head away, but the big tongue follows you. You try pushing him away with your arms and hands to no avail. He just licks them along with your face. Laughing, you finally give up because you realize that this is Jerry’s way of saying that he likes you. You stop laughing for a moment as his tongue slips briefly into your mouth and leaves some dog drool behind. You accidentally swallow it. It doesn’t taste bad, just different and somehow pleasant to your taste buds.
With your Old English Sheepdog friend on top of you now, the steady licking starts to feel comforting. And without really thinking about it, you lick him back on his shaggy muzzle and taste some of his fur. He stops for a moment, and starts with his tongue again. Then you lick him again and reach up to nuzzle your face against his muzzle. You touch your tongue with his as the two of you begin a mutual licking of each other’s faces.
As you nuzzle and lick Jerry, you dimly realize that some of the fur you are brushing up against isn’t his. You stop licking your shaggy friend and shake your head in confusion. And for a moment you feel your lips and ears flop back and forth. Huh?
The Old English Sheepdog sits up and looks at you with a happy expression on its shaggy face. You then sit up and find yourself seeing muzzle-to-muzzle with him. Through a thick furry veil, you see a shaggy mass of white fur sticking out from between your eyes. Bewildered, you try to reach up and feel it with one of your hands, only to find out that your hand is now a small rounded paw covered in shaggy white fur just like the sheepdog’s. You try to say something, but all that comes out is a loud woof. As your tongue lolls out of your mouth, you pant and realize that you now have the head and paws on an Old English Sheepdog on your otherwise human body. And what’s more is that you are starting to like what you see!
