Mary Elise and Katie were alone now, all the other girls were gone. The two children sat on the steps, watching the street for a moment as if in a trance. Finally after a moment, Mary Elise nudged Katie.
"You all right?"
Katie nodded, "Yeah. Its just that so much has happened in such a short time, some of it scary and some of it very fun. I want to have more, to learn more about this ring, what it does and where it comes from."
Mary Elise nodded and nudged Katie's bare toes with the tip of her sneakers, "You know I meant what I said before, about being your adopted sister."
Katie blinked, "You did?"
Mary nodded, "All my previous life I never realized how much I wanted to be a child again, and now I've had a chance thanks to you. I want to share everything with you, grow up or not grow up at all. I want to be your sister, Katie, the sister you sought in Kellie even if I'm not born from her like you were."
Katie smiled, "I wanted a sister too. Being the only child of a single mom, I never knew how much fun it could be to have 'siblings' and I wanted to know. Having mom as my twin, it was fun, but she got very snippy being 'the older one'. I still would kinda like to try out being a grown up sometimes, or making her a kid without being aware. Maybe we could even switch places in a sense. I don't know if the ring can alter reality to make mom and the world think your my adopted sister or not. It seems to control ages and perceptions of ages, even clothing and items. We'd have to change your whole being, your birth certificate, everything."
"Well, we could at least try." Mary Elise said, holding Katie's hand. "For me....sis?"
Katie looked to her new friend longingly and then closed her eyes and tried to reach out to the ring. In an instant she had her answer. The ring could alter Mary Elise's being and the perceptions of the world to make her an adopted sister, it could make her a blood relation. This required Mary Elise to be regressed to the point of conception and be reborn through Katie or Kellie themselves. Katie pondered this and told Mary Elise the information.
