My mother opened the front door and walked into the house. She saw both of us sitting on the couch.
"Oh, hello, Amanda," she said. "Nice to see you here."
"Hi, Mrs. Walsh," she said cheerfully, happy that she and I were fully clothed again. "Good to see you as always."
"So what are you two up to?" my mother asked as she walked into the kitchen and put her things down.
"Not much," I called to her. "Trying to decide what to do."
"Going out?" my mother asked.
"Yea," I said. "Just not sure of where yet, though."
"OK, I won't plan on you for dinner then," my mother said.
"We're going to go to the mall for a little while," I said, beckoning for Amanda to stand up with me.
My mother reappeared in the living room. "OK, you two behave then."
"We will," Amanda said. "I wouldn't let Joe do anything bad."
My mother smiled at her. They did like each other quite a bit. I was always grateful for that.
"Bye, Mom," I said.
Amanda echoed, "Bye, Mrs. Walsh."
We walked out the front door and onto the sidewalk. "Joe," Amanda said. "How did our clothes get back on? I didn't hear you wish it."
"I wished it in my mind," I said. "I guess the ring doesn't need me to actually say my wish in order for it to work."
"You jerk!" she said, slapping me in the arm. "What if that hadn't worked?"
"Who cares?" I said. "It did, so there's nothing to worry about."
"Joe," she said sternly. "Please be careful with this. Who knows what it might do!"
I sighed. She was right, as usual. "You're right," I said. "I promise to be more careful with it."
"Good," she said. "I've just decided what I want you to do with it," she said.
"What's that?" I asked.
"Well," she smiled coyly. "I liked being naked and close to you like we were on the couch. I didn't get enough time to enjoy that."
"OK," I smiled. "But I'll do you one better than that."
"How?" she asked.
"I wish that we were naked together in a hot tub in a currently unoccupied honeymoon suite of a really fancy hotel," I said. I clutched her hand during the last bit of my wish. I felt something hit us, some kind of time and space portal I would guess.
I felt our hands still interlocked, but now I felt something else as well. I felt hot, bubbly water touching my bare skin. I saw that my wish came true exactly.
I looked at Amanda. She was looking around at our new surroundings as well. She had a very stunned look on her face. "Wow," she whispered.
"Wow indeed," I agreed.
"Joe, this is amazing!" she exclaimed. She inched closer to me, getting the part of the wish that she wanted. "This feels so good."
I wrapped my arm around her. "It sure does," I said. "It sure does."
For a time we were silent. We simply enjoyed the massaging effects of the hot tub on us, enjoying more the fact that we were with each other. How I loved this woman. And I was fairly confident she loved me just as much.
"Joe," she purred about 20 minutes later.
"Yes, my dear?" I asked.
"I've got another idea," she said.
