"So... you wanna tell me a bit more about yourself?" you ask Lottie.
"Oh? You'd want to know what I used to be like? Uh, okay, where to start... alright, so when I was a kid, I really liked animals. Horses, wolves, dragons... that kind of stuff. I always wanted to be an animal ever since I learned to write, just to see what it was like. Becoming a hornet wasn't exactly what I wanted, but this latex feels amazing nonetheless. Fast forward a few years, I go to highschool, I graduate college, blah blah blah, now we're three years in the past. I was still pursuing the idea of becoming an animal, even after I finished college. I wanted to become one, to get away from the boredom of humanity. I heard news of the BioLatex company offering jobs in secret. Knowing this was the company that produced chemicals that could transform people into animals, I immediately signed up. There weren't many others that also applied, but I did become friends with most of the people that did get the job. Mari, Josh, and... Ryan..." Lottie sighs wistfully.
Lottie doesn't speak for a moment.
"Hey... if it bothers you, we don't need to talk about it," you tell her.
"No, no, it's okay... so... Ryan was basically the dude I was in love with." Lottie continues the story, albeit sounding rather saddened. "He was the best-looking worker in the facility. All I wanted to do was be with him, really. I'd talk about him a lot when he wasn't around, my coworkers would notice that I'd be staring in Ryan's direction for long amounts of time, and I'd try to be near Ryan as much as possible. No one caught on. About a year ago, we basically split paths. He became one of the major scientists, and I became the head secretary. I still wanted to be with him, but I couldn't. We almost never saw each other. But one day, an incident happened."
Lottie's melancholy voice starts to pick up a little bit. "A container of latex cracked open and spilled its contents all over someone. Seeing this from the office overlooking the main laboratory, I called for the medical staff and ran to check on the person. After getting closer and crouching to look at the scientist, I could make out the image of Ryan's face, right before the black latex swallowed him and changed him into a black, latex coated panther. By now, most of the other scientists have evacuated the room-the remaining ones are standing far away from the spillage. I slowly approached him. Then, completely out of the blue, Ryan pounces on top of me, biting into my shoulder. The black latex-and the shocking pleasure it brought-quickly began to spread across my body, shifting to an orange color and turning me into what I am today. It felt so good... I wanted to share the joy with the rest of the scientists in the room. Jumping from one worker to the next, I began to spread the pleasure that came with the latex. Each movement felt so good... After nearly everyone was shifted into one of us, I searched for Ryan. I wanted to confess my love for him badly. But I slowly began to realize... why did I like him? His good looks are gone, replaced by those of a panther's."
Lottie's voice perks back up to the squeakier one you heard initially, but still sounding a bit saddened. "And so, I decided to give up on him, and now, I guess I'm deciding to spread the glee of latex," Lottie concluded. Looking at her face, her insect eyes seem on the verge of crying, but she seems to be holding it back.
"Oh... I'm sorry about your past." You say to Lottie.
"No, no, it's fine, it's not your fault. I really wanted to tell someone about my most recent past, to get it out of my system. Hope you understand." Lottie buries her insect face into your fluffy pink coat, softly rubbing your body and making squeaking noises. "So, can I hear your story?"
You tell her a brief story about your "past life"; your hobbies, interests, childhood, etc. The story ends with the most recent happenings, although you leave out the part where you struggled against the latex. Charlotte drops the occasional comment, but for the most part stays quiet, listening to you. After you finish the story, you and Lottie trade jokes. The area gets noticeably dark, and you notice the moon is beginning to rise in the sky.
Lottie pipes up again. "Oh look, it's night! Time flies when you're busy! I'm going to sleep, okay?"
You nod your head, watching Lottie curl up in a ball. You decide to sleep too.
You wake up the next morning, looking around. Nothing has really changed about the parking lot-everything looks the same. You wake up Lottie.
"Ahhh~... Morning!" Looks like the sleep made her happy again. "So... whaddya wanna do?"
