The two lovers held one another lovingly. They hardly spoke, and seemed completely content to just hold eachother and never let go.
"Mary." She ignored him. "Mary!" She snapped back to reality. "Wu... Whats goin on..."
"Well, Mary, I figured that we should, you know, have dinner, and sleep until tomorrow."
"Oh, uh, sure! Just let me get..." She stopped mid sentence. "How are we going to get food?"
Eric pondered this for a second. "I think I have an idea."
One hour later, they were standing in front of Mary's fridge. " Alright, I'll let you get on top of me, then you pull me up." She stood on his shoulders, and reached for the drawer handle. Soon, she had used the handles to climb on top of her kitchen counter. Eric climbed up next to her. "Alright, we're almost their."
The two Ottsels began stacking cans on top of one another to make a sort of staircase to her pantry. Mary grabbed the handle, and the door flew open.
"What do you have up there, Mary. As if in response, Mary fell right on top of him, followed by a box of corn flakes.
The cereal spilled on to the floor. Jumping down, Eric found that the corn flakes looked far more substantial than they had before, possibly due to his size.
Not much later, the couple was eating dinner, and chatting about their new forms.
"I think I like having a tail the most." She commented. "Actually, Mary, there's something we need to talk about.
She got a concerned look on her face. "What do you mean?"
Eric sighed. "Well, what are we going to do? We can't get jobs, we can hardly open a door, we'd never be able to function in society!" Mary went silent.
The were both laying in bed when she finally spoke. "Let's go on an adventure."
Eric turned over to face her. "An adventure?"
"Sure! I mean, if we were able to turn into ottsels, certainly there's other kinds of magic out there! Think about it! We could go in the morning!"
Thinking about he said "O.K. But if we die, I'm blaming you." Mary laughed.
The next morning, the two prepared for their adventure. Getting as much as he could carry in a knapsack made from a napkin, he helped Mary climb onto the windowsill.
"Are you sure you want to do this?"
"Yes."
Eric smiled. "Well then, let's go." And they jumped out of the window.
