Greg had a rough ride. He got dumped twice into different bins and Tidy Dydy Diaper Serviceman picked up a load of dirty diapers, added it to the bin and delivered it to the factory. He empty his bin into another larger bin and Greg was mixed in with more filthy diapers.
Then he was dumped into a huge washing machine. Hot suds and bleach sanitized him and the diapers with him. He was transferred sopping wet via another bin into a huge dryer. Then he was taken on and put on a conveyor belt. He was mechanical folded and wrapped with a paper sanitized belt and stacked with a couple dozen other diapers and put into a sack and shipped out. Only when the strange man removed him from his bag did he realize he was not back at Anna's. This nursery was blue. Dang, he recognized the man holding him as his best friend Steve's older brother Jack. Steve had joked that he was now an uncle. Dang, the delivery service didn't care where the diapers were delivered. Greg knew about the Chronivac range was only about 1 mile, and that Steve's brother lived at least 10 miles away because Steve complained about bicycling out to babysit.
"Hey, Steve, Ethan's been having runny stools lately, and the doctor said if he has another would to set it aside for the lab to check. Just put the whole diaper in this Zip Lock Bag and stick it in the freezer, if he delivers you a messy one," Jack said handing Steve the plastic bag. "We're grateful that you were available to watch our son."
"Yeah, well, Greg and I were supposed to go - never mind. He must have had something more important to do. Glad I'm here to help."
It must be Saturday! Damn, thought Greg, he felt bad about not being there for Steve after he had promised. Why had he ever - he was a diaper now. Was there anyway he could communicate with Steve - or anyone?
The baby started wailing.
"Guess he needs a new diaper. He's wet," Steve said picking up his baby nephew.
He put the wet diaper into the covered pail, powdered and oiled his charge, and then he grabbed Greg. He unknowingly put Greg the cloth diaper on his young charge.
"There Ethan, all ready for a big bowel movement. Just pretend it's Uncle Greg, and make a big messy one," Steve joked.
No, thought Greg, it is me! I am the diaper.
Steve puts Ethan back in the crib and gives him a warm bottle of formula.
Then he dims the light and goes into the next room leaving Greg alone in the dark wrapped around a baby with bowel issues. And then if the kid pooped in him, he would be bagged, frozen and shipped to some lab. He might never be human again.
