Returning to the reception area, I remembered I had left Nancy the beautiful black receptionist changed into a goldfish. I started to wish her back to normal, but then paused as I got another idea. "I wish Nancy was safely moved into a fishbowl in my room," I said. With the office aquarium full of goldfish, I really couldn't tell if there was one less in there. Which meant Dr. Von Hauser couldn't either. Deciding not to disturb the doctor anymore today, I left a note on the desk, promising Nancy would be restored to normal by tomorrow. Leaving the office I thought that maybe tomorrow I would also be nice and wish away the poodle tail I had left Greta with. Maybe.
Once I was back home and up in my room, I sat and watched the goldfish formerly known as Nancy swim around in the bowl. I wasn't sure if she still had some amount of her human intelligence. I hadn't specified one way or the other. I also wasn't sure why I had wished her there. But thinking about how she looked normally, I began to realize something. The day's events had left me horny. My wishing had began with Greta when I made her clothes disappear. They say absolute power corrupts absolutely, but it's also a turn on.
"I wish Nancy was restored to normal here on my bed... except as a golden tailed mermaid." No, I don't know why that idea popped into my head. It just did. But a moment later the wish was fulfilled. Nancy covered her bare breasts with her arms and stared at me with a frightened look on her face. "It's okay," I said. "Don't be scared." Yeah, it sounded dumb to me too the moment I said it. I had turned her into first a fish and now a mermaid. OF COURSE she would be scared! For the next couple of minutes I explained that I had magic power. I didn't mention that it came from the ring. No one could remove it from my finger, but still, no need to invite problems.
"Why did you do this to me?" she asked.
Good question. "The tail is an attention getter," I said. "You're very beautiful, Nancy. To be honest, I'd like to make love to you. I could just wish for you to agree, but I don't want to do that. So I'll make a deal with you. Be with me tonight and I'll grant you a wish. I'm not sure what the limit of my power is, but I'm sure I can give you something you would like."
"And if I don't?" she asked. "You leave me this way?"
I shook my head. "No, nothing like that. I won't force you. If you don't agree, I'll simply restore you to normal and send you back to the office."
Nancy looked thoughtful and stared at her gold tail, proof that I could do what I said I could. "You'll grant me any wish?"
"Within reason," I replied. "I won't make you queen of the universe or anything like that, even if I could. But anything that isn't too wild or harmful, I'll give to you."
