Todd, Marty, and Jamie slowly made their way down the surface streets. Jamie had more or less figured out how to move, but the sheer amount of space he required forced him to take up a good deal of the surface street. Marty seemed to even be multitasking instead of paying attention, toying about with his four upper limbs while his lower 8 legs kept pace behind Todd.
It was almost surreal, how no one seemed to come running from their house and no cars passed them. In broad daylight, they were impossible to miss. The three teenagers approached Wright's house, then Todd spoke up. "I'll get Wright out here, you two stay out here." Lifting his junk from the handwagon for what he hoped was the final time, Todd approached the door, knocking in a fashion just shy of kicking the door in.
Before the door opened, he could already hear the rage-filled complaints of Wright on his way to the door. "God damn kids, wh-" As he opened the door, his demeanor shifted from anger to a cruel smile. "Lookit what we have here."
Todd had no idea what the old man was going to say, or do, next.
