Casper took his change, tucking it into his pocket. He sipped his coffee, and turned to leave the shop.
He had taking no more than 5 steps, when he heard a soft squeaking coming up behind him.
Turning to look, the rubber lizard girl from the coffee shop was running up to him, holding something in her shiny yellow hand.
"Sir," she called to Casper, "I'm sorry, I made a mistake with your change!"
Casper held out his hand, and she deposited a bill of small denomination into it, her hand lingering just a moment too long.
"Thank you, miss." Casper smiled.
"Ashley," the brightly colored lizard girl corrected him, smiling in return.
He glanced down at the bill in his hand, noticing that there were words scrawled in fine marker. *You're cute, call me? ^_^*
He looked back up at Ashley, who smiled again, blushing a bit. She reached out and took his hand, pulling a permanent marker from her apron and hastily scrawling a phone number on the back of his hand.
She looked up at him again, "I get off at 7," she said, blushing a bit again.
Casper smiled back, blushing a bit himself. He had not imagined that this sort of thing would ever happen to him, then again, he hadn't ever imagined that he would get a ring that could turn people into anthropomorphic rubber animals either.
As she turned to jog back into the store, Casper watched her thick tail sway back and forth and the barcode on her pert butt bounce with every step.
Was this encounter a side effect of the ring? Or was this just happenstance? The questions loomed in his mind.
Checking his watch, he realized that it was still before noon. He wanted to test the ring a bit more, so he decided to head to the park.
Strolling through the park, Casper thought about whom he could use the ring on next, when a shout of "Heads up!" snapped him from his musings. He looked up just in time to dodge a frisbee that had veered towards him. He ducked it, while the man chasing after it jogged up.
"A little help?" said the man. A thought bloomed in Casper's head, and he bent to pick up the frisbee. A flick of his wrist, a thought, and a little bit of will, and the frisbee sailed through the air, right into the arms of a rubber dalmatian standing where the man once did. Like the lizard girl, this one was also inflated, and unclothed, but this one had nothing on, not even a uniform. A nozzle was clearly visible where the man's navel once was, and below, this rubber creature had a bulge, but no visible genitalia between his legs.
"Thanks bro!" the newly minted rubber dog barked, turning and squeaking off back to his still human friend. Another bar code adorned the rump of this one. A thought and effort, and his friend was now an inflatable doberman, pointed ears rising majestically into the air. Like the dalmatian, the doberman was also naked, nozzle, barcode, and bulge free for all the world to see.
Casper smiled at his handiwork, and continued his stroll through the park. His wanderings took him near the community pool, where the local youth swim team was practicing. He decided to test out the limits of his ring, and concentrated for a bit, the ring growing warm on his finger. 20 rubber otters now frolicked in the pool, most floating on the surface of the water, squeaking and laughing, a large rubber orca looking over them, a whistle around his thick neck, thick arms crossed over his bulky yet sleek chest.
Casper decided he would go get some lunch, and maybe spread some more rubber around his town. As he left the pool area, he remarked to himself that none of the transformed people seemed to notice they were changed, and that other people seemed not to notice the changes either.
Oh, well, he thought, that is for larger minds than I to ponder, this is just so much fun!
