Katie and Mary looked at one another as Kelly and Judy rushed past them not even noticing them watching from the shadows.
"This could be bad," Mary said. "If we just inexplicably grow up, and they know our age, they could find out about the ring."
"Well I don't know if its a bad thing, everyone else accepted it." Katie pointed out.
"Except Tricia, look at her and what happened when she tried to take the ring. What if they freak out and try again. Mom could be a kid permanently or worse."
"Do you think the ring will work on them though, I mean, Mom didn't seem affected by it this time." Katie pointed out.
"Well we can try. Maybe if it doesnt work we tell them, ok?"
"Ok sounds fair." Katie said. "Should I adjust everyone else to think they are seven? Or maybe we can adjust them to think we're actually older."
"Yeah might be good for the long run. Then we can go out to the other parties and leave them with Sammy and Jacob."
"Alright." Katie closed her eyes. "I wish that Kelly and Judy would mentally regress to seven years old as if it was natural, with no memory of being older. I wish that everyone else except me and Mary would think of them as naturally seven as well"
Meanwhile, Kelly and Judy felt a strange tickly tingle in their minds.
"I feel...weird..." Kelly said. "LIke Im forgetting something."
"Forgetting what, how could you forget all this candy! This is so much and we get to keep it all, not like when we were in kindergarten!"
Kelly nodded. "Yeah! Maybe when we're eight we'll get even more, huh Sammy?"
Sammy smiled, sitting alone next to Jacob. "Oh yeah, but don't wanna grow up too quick, squirt."
Katie and Mary let out a sigh of relief. The ring worked again on their mom and her new friend.
"Now for the rest of us."
