You stare at your face in the mirror, but something is strange. You can't quite put your finger on it, but your reflection doesn't look quite right, even more so than last night. It's more than just your dog nose, which is still present, much to your dismay. You reach up to touch it to confirm what your eyes are telling you. However, you are surprised to find it doesn't feel as hard and leathery as yesterday, and even the shape is not as flat. You wonder if perhaps the effects of the BOD are wearing off. You feel your stomach growl, so you decide to follow your nose to some breakfast for the moment. As you turn away from the mirror, the corner of your eye catches something that you did not notice when looking at your face head-on. You freeze in your tracks, then reluctantly look back at your reflection using your peripheral vision.
Something is wrong with the shape of your head. It is no longer the relative oval of a human head. Rather, your nose and jaw appear to just out slightly, almost as though you have the beginnings of a muzzle. You turn back to the mirror, but turn your face to one side and then to another, completely befuddled by the new changes.
"What the...?" you start to say. However, you have not taken into account the changes in your facial structure. Instead, it sounds more like "Woof rarf..." much to your horror. You open your jaw and stare as a tongue much longer than the one you had yesterday hangs out. It is not quite as long as that of a dog, but it doesn't look altogether human either. You examine your gums and teeth, which have also changed slightly. Instead of a rounded jaw, it is slightly squarish, and juts forward; and your teeth look slighly sharper, especially your canines.
"Holy crap," you say, but wary of your last attempt, you carefully try to ennunciate. This time it sounds more like "Rowly rap," almost like you're trying to immitate an old Scooby-Doo cartoon. You are not certain whether to be relieved you can still speak or to be terrified that the changes are still going on. You look closer, and notice something else you overlooked. Covering your face is a light down of hair. It is so wispy, fine, and short, that a person would not notice it if not specifically looking for it. However, as you run your hand over your cheek, you no longer have the rough stubble you are accustomed to in the morning, but an extremely soft coating of fur. It appears to cover your entire face, and partway down the underside of your chin. A thought flashes through your mind, and you pull up your t-shirt to examine the spot you sprayed with BOD yesterday. While the fur seems a bit shorter, there is no doubt that it has spread, although it seems to taper off at the edges of the patch.
You think you understand what has happened now. The BOD is diffusing thoughout your body over time. While the spots which received the initial dose are slowly reverting, the BOD effects are spreading, although it is not having as strong an impact as it did on the spot you sprayed and on your nose. However, there is no way to know if you will eventually revert to being fully human or you will remain slightly dog-like. While certain dog attributes may have their up-sides, not being able to clearly speak is definitely not one of them. You are not certain how you will explain this change to anyone.
You catch one more alteration the BOD diffusion has made to your head. Your ears, instead of being rounded, now taper slightly to a point. They sit slightly higher on your head, but are not near the top of your head like those of an actual dog. They almost look elf-ish, which would be strange enough on its own, but added to your other changes, confirm the fact that your own reflection is now barely recognizable even to you. You sigh, which much to your chagrin nearly comes out as a whimper, and wonder what to do next. Turning away from the mirror, you decide to...
