The tired jogger was on his way after a brief rest, as he was not interested in Cat's idle chatter. The two unlikely of best friends stood and resumed their leisurely stroll along the park paths, from the tree covered areas to the open green fields with the people playing with their pets.
After a few hours of walking, they began their walk to the car. Jennifer playfully pawed at Cat's now pregnant belly, with Cat returning the favor. Once they arrived to the parking lot, most of the cars were already gone. An older man was the only person they saw, as he was packing something in his trunk. Jennifer and Cat were driving away when Cat saw several people approach the ederly man's car. Jennifer turned her mom's car around and drove up to the group, and rolled down her window. She looked at the group and said, "You would be wise to walk away now."
The group of six men did not move. Men is a loose term, they looked more like teenage thugs than young men. The older man was safely in his car at this point, and was able to start to drive away when several of the group tried to race after the man's car, unsuccessfully. Jennifer made a smug face and watched as the thuggy kids regrouped in front of Jennifer's mom's car. Jennifer turned off the engine, one of just a few cars now in the parking lot, and six undesirable men to deal with. Jennifer looked over at Cat, who was smiling.
