Todd pulled his hand back. “You’re not picking one?” She asked Todd.
“I’ll wait and see how yours turns out first.”
“Heart of a lion, you.” Mary said sarcastically.
Mary went straight for the first vial that caught her eye. It was filled with a pink, sparkling liquid and had a silhouette of a woman in profile with broad, stylized insect wings on her back. “Ooh, a fairy!” Mary quickly downed the contents and put the vial back, the vial refilling almost instantly. “Tastes like a mediciny fruit juice.”
Almost immediately, Mary felt her body shrink; her clothes quickly engulfed her. Todd deftly removed his now six inch girlfriend from her shirt and placed her on the couch. She didn’t look like she was in any pain; if anything, she seemed to be enjoying herself.
Already, her ears were stretching into points and thin stalks grew from the top of her forehead. The blue of her iris flooded the entirety of her eye as they slightly enlarged. Her back bulged as crystal clear stalks broke through the skin, forming loops and branches, a prismatic sheet filling out the shape.
When it was over, Mary looked behind her back at her wings, opening and closing them to confirm they were hers. “How do you feel?” Todd asks.
“I feel wonderful!” Mary shouted, leaping into the air and holding herself aloft with her wings.
“You look cute like that, by the way.”
“Aww, thankies!” She said in a cutesy voice.
