Mary downed the liquid completely. After a moment of waiting, she finally felt something; she clutched her chest and doubled over as it felt as if something was squeezing her heart.
The color of her skin started to drain away as her heart slowed down, even as each beat felt more intense as if her heart was struggling to remain alive. The area around her eyes became a sultry shape, accentuated by dark eyeshadow as her irises slowly turned red.
Mary’s upper jaw began to throb as her canine teeth pushed forward, lengthening and sharpening to fit their role as tools for feeding, but in a different way than before. By now, her heartbeat felt as a sledgehammer inside her chest as Mary willed it into silence at long last.
Mary stood up, ran her tongue along her upper teeth and moaned in pleasure. “It worked!” she said in a voice more seductive than ever. “I’m a vampire!” It was then that she felt a thirst like nothing she had ever known; she knew what she had to do.
