The Magic Shop

Tim gets the jacket from Jake

added by scriptboy 8 years ago BM S

“Gosh Jake…” Tim said, while giving his bigger and stronger buddy an envious glance. “You look great. I mean… You’re all like big and buff and all…”

“Hey, dude…” Jake smiled as he placed his thick, muscular arm over Tim’s narrow shoulders, “Someday you’ll be big and buff like me! Just believe, little guy!”

“Oh man… I dunno, dude…” Tim blushed. “I mean… Look how freaking strong you’ve become!”

“Oh, but don’t dwell on it, dude! Come…” Jake signaled, as he put his jacket back on. But, as he examined himself in the mirror, he noticed that his muscles had become so big, that he could no longer pull the zipper of his jacket all the way up.

In the meantime, Tim had already walked to the front door and opened it. He stood in the door opening, enjoying the cold air.

Jake just decided to keep the jacket on without zipping it up, so he waddled over to the door and closed it behind him. He met up with Tim.

“Let’s go for some hot cocoa! There is a nice little bagel shop about two blocks from here where we can get some hot cocoa. Good for this cold weather! My treat!” Jake said to his smaller friend, who started to look a bit uncomfortable.

Tim was now holding his arms crossed together before his chest. He barely spoke as he just held his head down and walked quietly next to Jake.

“Are you alright, dude?” Jake asked him.

“Yeah…. It’s just r-r-really c-c-cold!” Tim stuttered.

Jake looked down at his small, short and skinny friend who was only wearing a thin sweatshirt and jeans. The poor kid just couldn’t handle this frigid weather. In fact, Jake started to feel sorry for him since he was wearing his nice, new, thick letterman jacket which he had found a few days ago on a bench in front of the entrance to his school. Since he didn’t pay a dime for it, he could afford to give it away, right?

Then, Jake did the most unexpected thing. He stopped walking, he quietly removed the jacket from his torso and back and shoulders, before calling out his friend’s name.

“Hey, Tim!”

Tim stopped walking and turned around to face his bigger and more muscular friend, staring at him with a cold glance.

Jake walked over to him, holding his jacket in his hands. He then placed the jacket over Tim’s shoulders.

“Slide your arms through these sleeves, little guy. This will keep you nice and warm!” Jake said to him.

“Are you s-s-sure?” Tim asked him as he slid his thin arms through the nice, thick sleeves of the letterman jacket.

“Yeah. I can’t even close the zipper on this thing anymore. I’ve outgrown this thing already. So, you can have this to keep you warm. I don’t want you to get sick, little buddy!”

Tim slid both arms through the sleeves. Then, Jake spun him around so that the smaller guy was facing him. Jake then grabbed hold of the zipper and quickly pulled it up, closing the jacket from the bottom all the way to the collar.

“There! Nice and warm!” Jake grinned. “Now, this will keep you nice and warm from now on! You better keep this jacket on over the next couple of days!”

Tim just nodded. He already started to feel much better. The jacket was thick, heavy and warm. He was no longer shivering from the cold. But, something else was going on now. His muscles started to ache all over. Was it because of the jacket?

“Let’s go! The coffee shop is just around the corner!” Jake said, pointing to a little building that was just in front of him.

Tim just followed the bigger man who was leading the way.

A few minutes later, the two men walked in the coffee shop, where Jake sat down at a chair and Tim took a seat next to him. When a waiter came, Jake told him he wanted two cups of hot cocoa. A few minutes later, the waiter returned with their drinks.

“Gosh, Jake, I really appreciate this. Thanks for the jacket and the hot cocoa. Are you sure you want me to have this? This jacket seems really expensive!” Tim said, as he examined the beautiful, colorful letterman jacket.

“Oh, yeah… My muscles have gotten too big for it! I can’t even wear it anymore so I figured it would fit you better. Looking that it even fits kinda big on you, I guess you could wear it for a while!” Jake laughed.

“Well, it would take years for me to outgrow this!” Tim sighed. “I would never become as big as you!”

“We’ll see, little buddy…” Jake grinned. “We’ll see…”
