“Well.” She began, thinking about what would be best to do with their new power. “I’m not, entirely sure. I mean, I know he was rather cruel towards us, but others haven’t been so bad.” She referred to the former Mr Perth.
They knew that the former Mr Perth operated a Horse-Drawn Cab Business - to provide such rides for those who wished it - as a means of supplementing the family income which combined with his military pension and his wife‘s office job, was sufficient to keep them financially afloat with breathing room thanks to there having a handful of additional staff and enough of a customer base to merit it. This barn was where the horses for the job were kept while the one opposite held the carriages, four open and three enclosed, but usually only half-full at any given moment during the open hours.
“That may be, but there are far more that need to learn that they’re animals like us, and we need to work together, instead of just them using us.” He reasoned with her. “They need to know just what they’ve been subjecting us to.”
“I know what you’re getting at, but I still don’t want to harm the innocent ones.” She made her stance clear. “Just the ones who’ve mistreated us. Like that Daniel.” She recalled one of Mr Perth’s employees, who was about as cruel towards them as Mr Perth himself.
“Yeah, him.” He knew that Daniel was as cruel towards them as Mr Perth himself was, perhaps more so. “We could start with him, or maybe those who keep using us in races, then there’s Kelly, the way she’s always looking for a way to pull pranks on us.” They’d started heading to the opposing barn, seeing that of the seven their old ‘master’ kept, three were in use in the City.
“With all three out.” She began.
“They’re all at it.” He finished.
“So which one would Daniel be using right now?”
“He’s often using the open ones, so most likely one of them.” He made a silent wish to find out which one before giving the answer. “He’s heading in the direction of the park now, using Eclipse.”
“How? How do you know that?” She queried.
“Oh, right, I haven’t told you yet.” He showed her the Ring. “This is how, somehow it makes my wishes happen, accidentally ate it earlier today, and that’s how all this is happening.”
“So, that’s how you plan to accomplish all this?”
“It is.” He confirmed. “But like I said, still need to decide who, and what to make them learn.”
“Then.” She pondered the issue for a moment, wondering just what to do. True, she had her fair share of humans who really treated her poorly, thinking themselves above her. But others were noticeably nicer, and she didn’t want them to suffer for the actions of the lesser ones. “I think it’d be best to begin with Daniel. After all, he’s little different to, him.”
“Daniel it is then.” He agreed, perhaps a little eagerly. “The only question is to what extent. All the way? Or only half-way?”
“Either way, it’ll be something hell never forget, but I wish I'd be able to see it.” She added as she gave the last point some thought.
