"Oh, and I suppose you're in the right about all this?" You argue to the warlock. "I mean, listen to yourself: 'The world will make me a king!'" you said in a mocking imitation. "yeah, that's classic megalomaniac talk right there."
"Silence, you overgrown butterfly!" With a snap of his fingers, the net crackled with energy, shocking its occupants.
"Iris, I wouldn't provoke the evil guy controlling the magic net." Tulipelle moaned.
"Why not, I think he needs to hear how much of a douchebag he is, Tulip!" You answered.
"I said silence!" The warlock said as he sent a stronger jolt of energy through the two of you.
Tulipelle's vision was blurry and her limbs were shaking, but out of the corner of her eye, she manages to see Sandra inching her way toward her book. The look in her eye made it clear she understood your plan. "You know what, you're right; he's just doing it for power, nothing more. See, Iris, that's another side effect of Chaos Magic; eventually, it drives you bat shit crazy for sure!"
"Right, that's it!" The warlock said as a black metal spike jutted out from within his robe sleeve. "No more comments from the little bitty bitches!"
"Oh, crap; cold iron!" Tulipelle shouted. Judging by her reaction, a fairy's aversion to cold iron is at least one thing you read about that may prove to be painfully accurate.
The warlock pulled his arm back and just as he was about to thrust, a bolt of lightning struck it, electrocuting him. His clothes smoking slightly, he fell flat on his back, convulsing. "Doesn't feel too good, does it?" Sandra said before the warlock finally passed out.
Steadying her hand at last, Tulipelle used her wand to dispel the net. as Sandra cast a binding spell to trap the warlock and restrain his powers. Sandra also used a magnetism spell to remove the iron spike and search for any other pieces of iron and weapons on him. Once he'd been thoroughly disarmed, you ask "So what do we do with him?"
Sandra checked his pulse. "He's still alive, and since I can't contact the coven, the fairy Queen should handle him." Sandra said. "Besides, he knows Chaos Magic, so we need the best magic users in the worlds to keep him locked up."
"So, where are you going from here?" Tulipelle asks Sandra.
"Well, that portal's still on the fritz, so I may have to stay here for a while, at least until this portal is stabilized, or I find another one that works. I know, I could stay with you two!" Sandra said, swinging her hands around, and shrinking herself down to fairy height. She then conjured a broom, mounted it and hovered in the air a bit.
"I see no reason why not." You say, "What about you Tulip?"
"Uh... okay... it's fine, I guess."
"Then it's settled! Now how do we carry this load back to the Queen?" You ask, gesturing to the unconscious warlock.
"Well, I think it's time you cast your first spell." Tulipelle said. "A shrinking spell is just the thing to get your feet wet, as it were."
"Now, there are two ways a fairy can cast a spell, through hands or through dust. Hands are generally used for defensive or attacking spells or temporary and simple effects. Dust is used for more complex effects, such as shrinking people. Either way, all you need to do is think of what you want to do, then do it. Now, try to shrink him."
You thought about shrinking the warlock, took a deep breath and expelled a plume of sparkling blue dust onto him, shrinking him to your size. You couldn't believe it, you used magic. "That was me, I did that!"
"And perfectly on the first try," Tulipelle said. "Now, let's try 'tethers of light'; this one's done with hands. Imagine a rope entagling the warlock, then point your hand at him." You did as she instructed, and a beam of light lashed from your hand, encircling the warlock as Sandra and Tulipelle did the same. "You're a natural!" Tulipelle said.
The three of you took the warlock, identified as Jovek a renegade warlock from Gaia, before Queen Rafflesianna. By then, he had regained consciousness. Tulipelle presented her gathered evidence, and told the details of the encounter to the queen, who told him "Jovek, The evidence against you leads me to decree you are to stand trial for use of forbidden magics, conspiracy to destabilize the boundary between worlds and conspiracy to use magic to conquer and rule the non-magical. Guards, take him to the dungeon!" The guards hauled Jovek away and the queen turned to the three of you. "Your bravery, teamwork and trust have done a great service to our queendom today. Therefore, You three shall be rewarded."
