Mike was happy, but it was obvious that Aaron was not. "Before we go on a quest, I need a warhorse that looks like a warhorse, not an ugly centaur! You don't really want to spend all your time here as a freak, do you?"
Mike frowned and twisted his head to look at himself. The mirror that the wizard had provided earlier reflected a strange-looking creature somewhere between horse and centaur. He liked having the powerful arms, but realized that he did not have much flexibility to use them now that his torso was much more horse's neck. He sighed and asked the wizard "Can I keep the human memories and thoughts and be all horse physically?"
The boy wizard nodded. "You won't be able to talk, but I can make some changes to the way your brain works so that you can have a human/horse intelligence. Not as smart as you are now, but not dumb as a horse, either. More like being sorta mentally retarded as a human, but brilliant for a horse."
Aaron nodded. "That would be perfect!"
Mike thought about it, not so sure. It helped that he would still be super smart for a horse.
