Katie had to think fast. If Mom found out about the ring, she'd be toast. She could always just wish Mom was unaware again, but that seemed kind of unfair right now. She kind of wanted to see what happened.
"Yeah! Isn't it cool," Katie said. "Im growing up!" She did a twirl, grinning.
Kelly wasn't amused. "This is serious katie! People don't just...grow up or grow younger! Something's going on."
"Well is it a bad thing mom? I mean...look how pretty you are!"
This stopped kelly. It was true she was younger, more beautiful. But wait...she saw her daughter's ears. "Katie..." She realized, remembering. "You're too young to have earrings..."
"Not anymore," Katie said. "You said so!"
"Yes but... its the magic that's doing this! We have to stop it, turn back."
"I don't want to though, I like being ten." Katie said.
"Your not ten, katie! Not really!" Kelly insisted. "Your still my daughter."
Katie had enough. This wasn't going to just be a game anymore, she wanted to have fun. "Yeah well I wish you were the younger one,and I was the boss of you!"
