You can hear the other members of the team in the bag, but with deflated faces nothing more than the occasional sigh or little moan escapes. It is total darkness in there. You wonder if it should be hot with 8 guys in a duffel bag, but you suppose your now plastic body is deflated and free of heat. Shouldn't you need to breathe too? That also seems to not be a problem any more.
As you ponder the issues of your new shape you feel the bag bump and bounce, clearly coach is walking somewhere. Probably to his plane. A thump as the bag is placed on something, then an odd humming sound. Must be the Xray machine at the security line. You struggle to move, to get their attention, but can only sigh a little as some air escapes you.
"What is that in there? I think we need a manual inspection" you hear a voice say from outside. You are overwhelmed with joy. Exactly what you need, now somebody will help you!
"Sir can you step over here a moment? I need to make sure the content of the bag is OK. It looks strange on the Xray." says a different voice. You feel the sensation of being lifted and set down again, then Coach's voice says "Sure go ahead." and a zipper exposes you to bright lights.
A face looks in and inspects you, prodding, and pulling up one of the other players whose flat shiny body flops in the hands of the TSA agent. He raises and eyebrow and quickly puts your teammate down. "You have a lot of these, um... toys? It looks like they are just stacked too thick and the Xray is going bonkers, looks ok to me though with a visual check."
"Yeah. I'm a little embarrassed. Here take some team gear as a thank you. I coach the water polo team at State up the road. You can be a fan." Coach says with a winning smile. You see him press a small box with a team Speedo and a t-shirt in to the man's hands. "Make sure it fits though."
"Um. Thanks. Have a good trip." you hear the agent saying as the bag zips up, and you are again plunged in to darkness.
