The trip to the movies of very different for both girls. Katie was now 22, having become one year older as her mom became one year younger. Although she was tempted to rub it in Katie choose not to, the glum look on Kelly's face made her pity the young preteen. They decided on a PG-13 movie that Katie had been wanting to see. Katie greatly enjoyed herself, even though she had to have Kellie pay.
Kellie on the other hand was not enjoying herself as much. Now a young girl of 13, Kellie did not even have the luxury of calling herself a real teenager anymore. Begrudgingly she settled into her role as Katie's little sister. At first it was mortifying for the formerly grown woman. An elderly couple complimented Katie on taking her little sister out. Kellie wanted to say something but thought better of it, while she still wasn't quite sure how the magic worked it seemed that if she exerted herself as an adult she became younger. Clutching her young body she realized she didn't want to lose what was left of her womanhood.
After the movie the two girls decided to to grab a bite to eat. As they sat down for a burger and fries Kellie stared at her mature daughter. Katie was living it up now, being in charge. She didn't know how comfortable she would be herself in being 13 years old. If she wasn't worried about becoming even younger she might actually have found this to be quite enjoyable.
"You doing okay mom," Katie asked.
Kellie looked at her daughter and smiled. "I dont know," she said. "I never thought I would be the one following you into a pg -13 movie because I was young enough to have to see it."
"Did you enjoy it?" Katie asked.
"Not really, its a kids movie," Kelly said, folding her arms. "Maybe that's why you enjoyed it more than I did."
Katie frowned. Her mother was acting pouty. She didn't really blame her but it just didn't seem to sink in. Then katie had an idea. "Hey mom," Katie said. "There's something I want to do and i was to young to do it before. You want to come with me?"
Kellie looked at her daughter ad shrugged. "Why not what have i got to lose."
Katie smiled and took her mom by the hand. The two walked in silence before Katie stopped in front of a nail salon. "Ive always wanted to get my nails done but you always said I was too young. I was hoping you could come with."
Kellie looked at her daughter. In the past she would of been adamant but Katie not doing something so grown up. With all the changes that had taken place Kellie now held her tongue, if she didn't embrace his idea and chastised her daughter she had a feeling what would happen. "Okay Katie lets do this," she said. "I think your old enough and besides I pretty sure if I go all mom on you I'm going to regret it."
Katie smiled broadly and hugged her young mom. The two girls sat down indulging themselves in mani/pedi. Katie noticed her mothers face grimace as she had her nails painted a bright pink. Katie herself enjoyed it but for all her efforts she wasn't getting a closer relationship with her mother. She wanted to be close to her like a sister, or be the one in charge.
