Brian was unfortunately awake and at his desk studying for his exam the next morning. My heart skipped a beat, and my mind flooded with explanations on why a scantily clad supermodel would be walking into his dorm room after dark.
“Hi Ben.” he replied.
“Hi.” I said, in surprise as I looked down at myself. My regular body had returned. Almost in disbelief, I felt my torso and chest, and sprinted to the bathroom to check out the mirror. It was my unmolested face, with my hair at its regular length. My clothes looked like they did when I crashed onto my bed earlier. With the clear exception of a tiara on my head, mocking my with the assurance that what I just experienced was no simple hallucination.
Brian didn’t seem to notice it on me when I came in. He was probably too focused on his studies. Thankfully, I managed to take it off with no effort. Holding it in my hands, my mind started to piece things together. Fred said that the woman beat up a man in an isolated part of the campus, probably right after I blacked out the first time. The second time I blacked out, there was a fire with people who needed to be rescued. Whenever something significantly bad or dangerous happened in the area, I blacked out, and was replaced by the woman. So she only appeared when someone needed saving, and to do that, she either had to transform me, or replace me.
It was safe to say that the man who had been beaten up was trying to rob or hurt someone, or worse. The girl and her dad were alive because of the tiara wearing heroine. But even with all that information, there were still too many questions. Why me? How did I wake up as her in the fire? How was the tiara able to teleport, or at very least block my memory? How could it not only alter by body, but clothes as well?
Holding the tiara, I knew that it was in my best interests to find out more about it before any more episodes happened. But the transformations had taken their toll, and I felt exhausted. I thought that it would probably be best to get some sleep now and research the tiara the next day.
