“Fine.” she said. “My name in Lenexa. At least that’s the name that I am most known by. I’m sure you’ve heard a poem or two about my great deeds.”
“Sorry.” I said as I shook my head. “Poets don’t sing of you here.”
She looked a bit taken back by that admission.
“I, who have brought Loki to his knees, I who have raced against Artemis, I who have matched wits with the Jade Emperor. I am not praised as the epitome of womanhood?”
“That was a while ago. Rome has fallen since then. New legends have popped up.”
“What is Rome?” she asked.
“Rome was the empire that followed after the fall of Greece.” I simplified.
She looked stunned.
It was around this time that I felt my eyelids become heavier.
“I think I am waking up.” I told her as she began to blur. “But I have so many questions I need you to answer.”
“As do I.” she replied.
“Are we able to talk tomorrow night?”
“Perhaps I may make a more efficient solution.” she said, as a sly grin met her lips.
The next think I knew, I had awakened.
