"Not here!" Luke pushed the big dog away and stepped aside so the animal dropped to all fours. "Stay down, boy!"
Either the dog had training to obey, or the boy decided to go along. The Great Dane sat and watched him with his tongue lolling out and tail wagging.
Luke looked at the German Shepard costume and immediately wrote it off as a bad idea. It looked like the kid had become a real animal, and Luke did not want to become a real bitch with this horny male. 36 hours was plenty f time to get pregnant, and who knew what might happen then? He reached for his clothes and got dressed quickly. When he was done, he picked up the boy's clothing and rolled it up under one arm. "So now what? You want to be my dog for a day or so?"
Luke's family actually had a great place for a dog - their golden retriever had died a year ago, and while they had not gotten another dog, the back yard was fenced in and there was still stuff around - dog bowls and toys, even a big old doggie bed in the garage.
The Great Dane woofed and wagged his tail. Luke grinned and rubbed under the dog's chin. "I'll take that as a yes. But I gotta have a name for you. Duke?" The dog snorted. "Samson?" The dog cocked it's head and then yipped. "OK. Sampson it is."
Luke put the German Shepard costume back on the rack and went to the front of the store. The clerk grinned. "I see Tommy found you. Want me to take care of him?"
Luke shook his head. "Nah,. I'll take him home with me. I miss having a dog, and it's just for a day and a half, right?"
"As long as he wants to come back. If he likes being a dog enough, he'll end up staying like that for good." The clerk saw the roll of clothing. "Oh, and be careful - until the kid changes back, those clothes of his are also a costume."
"What? If I put those on I'd turn into a kid?" Luke grinned, thinking of being a little younger than his kid brother.
"Not just a kid. THAT kid. Danny."
