Jamie continued to play with her form in front of the mirror, mixing and matching her five new animal bodies just for the fun of it. She found herself positively thrilled with this gift that the Kingdom had given her and wondered what she should do with it, and her thoughts quickly turned towards her friend. Maybe if they played it again and Brad was the hero then he could get this gift, too. They could have a shared secret and go on real adventures together.
<p>
Jamie focused on being human again and opened the window to her room as wide as she could. She took The Kingdom off of her bed and set it on the floor, then focused on her bat form. As her fingers extended into bat wings and her feet became more prehensile she wondered if she would be strong enough to carry the game with her to Brad's house, but she needn't have worried - the magical game was surprisingly light and gave her very little trouble as she flew out into the night.
<p>
Sure enough, Brad was in his room, lying on his bed and reading a book. Jamie grinned as she flew at the window, making a sharp u-turn before hitting it so that the game tapped against the glass. She did this three times before Brad finally noticed and came to the window, then two more times before he figured out enough of what was going on to open the window and let her in.
<p>
"Jamie?!" Brad asks in a panicked whisper. "What happened?? Did the curse come back? Oh, Jamie, I'm sorry, so sorry. What are we going to do?"
<p>
Jamie set the Kingdom down and gave a little laugh in her screechy bat-voice before shifting back to her human self. "Brad!" she said, giving her friend a wide grin and a big hug. "Nothing like that - I can control it!"
<p>
"Shhh! My parents might-" Brad says, obviously in a state of shock at his friend's sudden transformation, before the importance of what he's just seen and heard hits him. "Wait, what??"
<p>
"Watch," Jamie grins, giving Brad a demonstration. She starts by shifting through her forms, becoming a mouse, a turtle, a monkey, a bat and finally a donkey. Then she shows how she can mix and match aspects of the different animals.
<p>
Brad watches, mouth slightly agape. "Holy cow," he finally says.
<p>
"So do you wanna play again? If we can do it so I'm the statue this time, maybe you'll get to do this, too!"
