"It was then that I understood why God had cast those of us that had fallen out, why he created us to serve humans, why he loved you weak little things so." Touma continued. "It's because of your frailty, your need of his love and compassion, so he gives it freely. I too, needed from you, and without realizing it, you gave."
It was then that she began to weep, the congregation sat in stunned silence, most of their eyes were wide and mouths agape.
"One of your kind, had shown me a strength beyond what I had seen in heaven or hell. Angels are built with the strength to move mountains, demons are fallen angels and things created by the Lucifer... you humans and all things in this realm are so pathetically powerless, and yet you give so freely... even to me."
At this Touma fell to her knees, as this happened Ty rose from his seat and began walking to her. Ty didnt know what he was going to say or do. He knew fallen angels were dangerous but if God could give her a second chance, so could he.
He got to the front of the church where the naked demoness was kneeling and weeping into her hands. She still hadn't brought herself to look at who approached her, and nobody in the church seemed to be breathing.
Ty shuffled his feet awkwardly, "You know, guilt and grief are heavy burdens to bear, but nobody ever tells you that trying to keep hope alive can be just as heavy and twice as painful."
Touma looked up in disbelief. "You, y-you're h-h-here!"
"Are you really seeking forgiveness? Is that truly what you want?"
Touma turned her head away and nodded. She was clearly ashamed of herself, "It is."
Ty reached out to her face, turning it toward his, "I'm so proud of you." he whispered. "Not that it means anything, but I forgive you." with that he bent down and kissed Touma's forehead.
Time seemed to slow, the air was silent but it felt like a thousand voices were screaming or singing? The electricity went out, a wind blew out the candles and the temperature fluctuated wildly. Reality seemed to be melting or ripping apart, the laws of physics didn't seem to apply. Touma's ebony skin and eyes glowed, emanating with light, the horns on her head receded. All within an instant, it was gone.
Touma was left in white clothes, no longer in demonic form. "What just happened?" Ty asked.
"Angels are the original shapeshifters, our forms reflect our hearts and the actions we follow. My betrayal of God made me a demon, my obedience to God turned me into an Ishim."
"An Ishim?"
"An angel without wings to reach heaven." Tears were streaming her face yet again.
"I'm so sorry, I will continue to pray for you."
Touma just looked up and smiled, "You don't understand, this is more then I deserve and more than I ever could have hoped for. I can hear my brothers and sisters singing again, its been millennia ." Touma tilted her head listening to things only she could hear, "Ty, You are my assignment, I-I get to protect you from that which would do you harm."
Ty looked back on the congregation and suggested they discuss her, him, and his powers somewhere other than in front of the entire assembly. They ran out, Ty apologized to the pastor for the interruption and wished that they would just continue with the sermon like normal.
