“Hey, looking good sweety” Suzy said as Jen approached.
“Why are you calling me that?” Jen asked.
“We are lovers after all...Would you rather I said honey? How about baby?” Suzy joked.
“Ugh...Just call me Jen” She replied, looking a bit annoyed at the exchange.
“I think I only need one more positive change.”
“Got any ideas?”
Before Suzy could respond, Beth came up to them with bucket full of water balloons.
“Here” She said, quickly handing one to each of them.
“When Coach Whitney blows her whistle, we’re all going to chuck these at her.” After that Marcy and Jess are going to bring out her birthday cake.
“Don’t let her see the balloons until she blows the whistle, ok?”
Before either of them could respond, Beth was already off to deliver more balloons.
Jen had forgotten about the prank they were planning. She looked around the room and saw that nearly everyone was hiding a balloon behind their back.
Jen couldn’t help but panic, there was no telling how their coach might react.
After a moment, she emerged from her office and yelled, “Alright girls, line up!”
They all obeyed, careful to keep the balloons out of her line of sight.
“This will be the last set of laps today, so you may freestyle it.”
“Ready?...”
Then she blew the whistle.
Like a line of archers, everyone unloaded their payload on the unsuspecting coach. Several of the colorful balloons met their mark...
Jen couldn’t believe what happened next.
