The more Sally thought about driving, she realized that the risk was too great. She could turn into a mermaid in public, or even worse, get into an accident. The sweat was slowly coming back and she needed to think fast.
Realizing she was in no state of mind or physical shape to be making these decisions, she decided to call her boyfriend, Nick. Maybe he could help her figure out this mess she was in. She ran to the phone and touched his contact. After a few rings, he picked up, "Hey Baby, how's it going?" he answered. "Nick, I need you to come home right now", Sally replied, "I can't explain right now, but something is very wrong and I need help". She realized that she was starting to tear up again. Nick picked up on her concern, "Are you alright, Sally?", Nick asked in a concerned tone, "I'll try to get there as soon as I can, but please tell me you're alright". Sally began to sob as she realized she was not alright in any sense of the word, she was helpless and afraid, wondering if she was going to be stuck as a fish freak forever. She hung up the phone.
The living room once again felt blazing hot and Sally was sweating buckets. She knew she had to get to the bathtub or she would be stuck flopping around on the floor. She tried to make a run for the bathroom, groaning in pain as her breasts grew in size. She was tripped by her legs that had merged together, and finished her transformation in front of the doorway to the tub. She desperately dragged herself to the tub, feeling more dry and dehydrated than ever before, she needed water badly. Once she made it, she thrust the faucet and climbed into the tub as fast as she could, feeling a sense of cool relief as the water soaked her body.
As she gained her composure, she took a good look at her tail and wondered what Nick would think when he saw this, and if she would ever be normal again.
