Wait A Minute...

added by s1 8 years ago O

You and Sandra only made a few steps when Tulipelle's voice stopped you.

"Wait! Where are you going?" Tulipelle asked.

"The library... like I said," you said to her, "Sandra wanted something to eat..."

"And do you know where the library is?" Tulipelle asked. "And Sandra... do you know where our restaurants are? Remember we don't use electric lights and advertisements like you do in the human world."

You blinked for a moment and then remembered that you were still only a changeling. You might be able to get directions, but you didn't know where the public library was and it was likely that Queen Rafflesianna wouldn't allow you to use the royal library. The only thing that saved you from complete embarrassment was that Sandra made the same mistake.

"I don't know..." you said slowly and then looked down.

"I'd mostly figured on doing a bit of exploring," Sandra commented, "I'd find a restaurant eventually, and if I'm to be an ambassador between my coven and your Queen's queendom, it'd be best to have some familiarity with the town..."

"We can tour after Iris gets her surprise," Tulipelle answered, "and we can even stop and get lunch on the way."

"But would it be a surprise if I'm there?" you asked.

Tulipelle gave a very calm smile, "There are ways around that... and honestly... you'll actually need to be there for it. But I can't say anything more at the moment."

That left you a bit puzzled. You knew you'd need a more complete wardrobe. Your human clothes, left in the cave after Jovik's defeat and capture, were all men's clothes and likely were back to full size by now. And your wings would make them difficult even if they could be permanently shrunk down. The sundress that Tulipelle gave you fit okay, though the top was a little tight as your bust was larger than Tulipelle's, but it wasn't so tight that you couldn't wear it, and it was only one piece of clothing. You'd need more to wear than just the sundress that Tulipelle gave you. But then there was also the wand that Tulipelle described as an all purpose tool for fairies, which you had taken interest in. Though, Tulipelle had said that was those who had attained a great deal of knowledge and proficiency with regard to magic. And while the Queen had said you could be quite powerful, you figured you were still too new to have earned a wand yet. And a lot of that made you curious and to a degree excited.

Though most of that was because you liked Tulipelle. It was probably the most interesting match you'd ever drawn, not simply because Tulipelle was a fairy, but because you had become a fairy as well and that you had only just met Tulipelle yesterday. You remembered that it actually took two or three dates before you and Sandra had agreed to be boyfriend and girlfriend when you were human, and you had to privately admit to yourself that much of that had been set up by an attempt to get in Sandra's pants. But with Tulipelle... much of your attraction to her was more due to her personality and how friendly she'd been with you, especially when she didn't have to. Sandra's voice then stopped your pondering for the moment.

"And why must I stay with you while you faun all over my ex?" Sandra asked, slightly irritated.

"One... despite your glamour spell, you're still human," Tulipelle answered, "you've helped us... but it's better to be safe than sorry. I can give both you and Iris the tour and no one will question your presence... I mean... do you want to explain that you're a witch using a glamour spell and a potential future ambassador to our Queen's queendom?"

You looked over to Sandra, who had her book under one arm and the broomstick in her other hand as looked up and back, as if she was thinking for a moment. Eventually she did nod.

"That makes sense, I suppose," Sandra commented, "especially since I'll be crashing with you two..."

Tulipelle nodded.

"But what about me?" you asked, "I mean I love surprises... but there's a lot I still have to learn about being a girl... and a fairy... and magic and so on..."

"Sandra and I can help you with that," Tulipelle commented, "A witch's magic may be different from ours... but many of the principles are the same... and I'm more than capable of answering any questions you may have about our culture, our magic, our lives, and a good deal of our history... far more first hand experience than any book could give you."

"You'd do all that for me?" you asked her.

"You're my heartfriend," Tulipelle said to you and came forward to hug you, her arms wrapping around your waist, "Of course I'd help you adapt and tell you all that I know... Besides, even if we weren't heartfriends... I did promise to help you. I can't go back on my word."

"Tulip," you said slowly and hugged Tulipelle to you. You were about to actually lean forward to kiss her when you heard Sandra give a cough.

"I know you two are all in the early lovey-dovey phase of the relationship, but can we get some lunch before the two of you start making out in public?" Sandra asked.

"Sure," both you and Tulipelle blushed as you pulled apart in embarrassment.
