I smiled as I watched Shiela feel her face and look down at herself. Her once gorgeous and athletic body had more than doubled in age and weight. The nice outfit she had worn today now looked more ridiculous than stunning. Her extremely tight mini-dress made her look like a sausage and the very high cut only served to show off her massive dimpled legs. "What'd y'all do to me?!" she gasped, suddenly very embarrassed by her revealing clothes.
"That's a nice look for you," I said with a grin. "You can still be an important part of the family, but my dad deserves someone less over the pasture."
Shiela stared aghast for a split second. Then she balled up her fists and started angrily waddling towards me. The sound of her thighs slapping together dissipated anything intimidating about the gesture. "Joey Winslow, you better fix this or I'll-"
"I wish Shiela was our perfect nanny," I said with a yawn.
Shiela instantly stopped in her path as magical lights began to manifest and circle around her. As they span around and around her, her possessions started shimmering and contorting, as if suddenly made from clay being kneaded by invisible hands. Her clothing grew and lengthen, her mini-dress and jacket becoming a conservative gown and cardigan. The stylish matching handbag on Shiela's saggy arm changed too, now dull, practical, and filled with candy treats. A few of the magical lights flew up and landed on her head like fireflies, blinking out of existence as they formed a small pair of glasses connected by a chain and a very gaudy and colorful hat. Finally, the remaining lights swirled around Shiela's foreheard, disappearing with a bright flash.
"Oh, Heavens!" lilted Shiela, the Winslow family's biddy ol' nanny. "Fancy meeting you here, Joseph!"
Close enough.
"Hey, Shie-, uh, I mean, Miss S. Can you do me a favor and take Andrea back to our house?" I asked. "I want to hang out at the mall some."
Shiela didn't even hesitate before taking the little baby girl and all her supplies off my hands. "Of course, Joseph! And here; have some money to enjoy yourself with." I gladly accepted the twenty dollar bill from the very kind and generous matron, snickering a little as she happily waddled off to her new life of caring for Emma's kids.
