When Emily and your wife finally separated, you suddenly realized that Julie joined your little group. "I couldn't help but overhear your conversation, about your habitability to host all your sisterhood into your current home." she said. "But Sally must have informed you about the council's plans, no?"
"She did mention some plans but…" Answered Selene.
At this, Julie facepalmed. "Sally is far more aware of the details than I am, but I know enough to say this: The council found some place with both an easy access to the sea and more space than you currently need to host all of your sisterhood."
You suddenly wondered what the council wanted in exchange of this providential new home, and shuddered thinking of the amount of tax you will have to pay because of it. But before you could voice your thoughts on the matter, Sally entered the room, asking "Can I discuss with our guest about their sleeping arrangement for the night?"
"Before that, we need to know more about the council's ‘projects’ about us." Sternly said Michael.
Sally was taken aback by this. "Well… One of our trusted, a lone siren, recently found an underwater bunker, one the army abandoned for a long time. It's spacious, and got an entrance on the coasts."
"AND THE ARMY LET YOU ACQUIRE IT?!?" Michael and you shouted together.
"First it was a secret installation, so beside the bunker itself, no proof of it exist. Secondly, since it's going to be a sirens' hideout, it's now magically hidden. So you don't have to worry about any taxes on it, or the army taking it back." Then, smirking, Sally added "Beside, how could they imagine the entrance of their legally inexistent bunker to be hidden inside the splendid manor we build on top?"
All this only made you increasingly suspicious of the council. And you could tell weren't the only one. Hence your head-sister asking "And what is the price for all this? Which work the council try to saddle me with?"
To everyone surprise, that made Sally smile both happily and sincerely. "Dating lessons."
"Dating… Lessons?" The three voices of Selene, Michael and yourself repeated. "That's all?!?"
This time, Julie was the one to answer. "Sirens with dating experiences are very few you know, and most mermaids only want lessons from someone who successfully found a human lover. My job alone is enough to overbook me, so when you add dating lessons on top of all this… But now we can also count young Emily and yourself, and I'm sure Michelle's experience as your husband will be a great help."
