After she'd hung up the phone, Celine sighed and rapidly accessed Amy's employee file.

Clarice frowned for a moment, before changing the value to “PENDING EVALUATION”. While Clarice had never particularly seen this particular employee as anything special or worthy of note, things might be turning slightly in the girl's favor. Personally, Clarice didn't care for her. She thought the girl was too flighty for anything that required independent thought, and at points a little too willing to ignore direct instruction. Admittedly, the nanites could take care of a lot of the more...pesky issues, but at some point, there were only so many hours in the day, and Clarice couldn't babysit every single asset perpetually. Clarice was fair, however, and willing to see where this went. If the girl made a disaster of the plan, it could be salvaged; they had six more days to make it right. If they went well, then she might have stumbled onto a diamond in the rough, so to speak. Clarice was more than willing to set aside personal feelings or opinion in the face of evidence, particularly in pursuit of the greater plan.

Clarice preferred using bisexual assets, regardless of their sex. They were more versatile, and all but the most weak-willed assets or utterly nanite-dominated ones were virtually impossible to force into a sexuality they weren't at least inclined toward. Just as science had said, and even the more religious were beginning to acknowledge, sexuality was something that simply couldn't be changed on a whim, even when the most rigorously cutting-edge technology was applied. Early attempts had proven that even if they turned a straight woman into a man, she would still be attracted only to men if she was a hard-set heterosexual, and her mind would tend to resist most orders as her body wasn't fitting what her mind felt it should be, even after neural wipes had occurred. There had to be at least a latent desire in most cases, for any permanence of value to occur.
PREFERRED TRANSFORMATION: TIGER (FEMALE) BIPEDAL
The only thing more fixed than someone's sexuality, Clarice had found, was their preferred transformation. The vast majority of people who came to the resort had a very specific image in their minds of precisely what they wanted to be. Attempts at forcing a feline shape on someone who was naturally reptilian was even harder than changing sexuality. While it was possible to essentially break them through repeated neural wipes and various pain and pleasure combinations, even a successful species switch left the asset a shell of their former selves. While they had value on a purely cannon-fodder level, their long term value was practically nil.
Predator types had more long-term potential than their vegetarian counterparts, and bipedals had a greater versatility. In general, it seemed that bipedals had less issue being forced into their standard fully animal form, while those who changed naturally into quadrupeds had issues when pushed into a bipedal form. The upside to quadrupedals was that they were infinitely easier to guide once they'd changed, as they operated on a more instinctual level.
Clarice quickly paged down a whole series of varied personality traits and biographical information about Amy, before finding a field marked:

Another screen popped up-this one showing various chemical values and behavior sets. Everything was largely abbreviated-the odds of someone accessing this without authorization were low, but even if they did, they'd likely have issues even figuring out what most of it corresponded to. That was part of Clarice's value to the organization-as a woman with a mastery of biochemistry, and a solid background in psychology as well, she was well suited for the role of the puppetmaster that she'd been given.
With some lightning fast keystrokes, she made minor, but key modifications to Amy's chemistry moving forward, ordering the nanites to increase her genital sensitivity and promiscuity. She pushed her aggression up significantly and adjusted the animal balance in her enzymes as well, to guarantee a much higher probability of her compliance with previous instructions. The final touch was adding an extra level of dopamine to be delivered post-coitally, to reinforce the behavior subconsciously as “good”.
While it wasn't clear why Gloria Cardon had been flagged as a high priority acquisition, Clarice never failed the one who gave her orders. She was single-minded and efficient in acquiring new assets, and cold and virtually perfect when it came to using the assets she had at her disposal. She hit the execute command, confident that she'd set things in motion properly, though she found herself having a moment of doubt and worry.
While she could access the modifications for anyone under her, she couldn't access her own files. While she could modify her own basic transformations (just as anyone else with the nanites could), from time to time, she found herself wondering what her own file said, and if someone higher up in the organization made alterations to her own existence. She tried to avoid thinking about it too much, because she knew the reality: it was almost a guarantee they had. But she was well paid, and well taken care of. She had status and security within the company, and when their plan moved to stage two, she would have even more. Still, the doubts were there, and were persistent. Clarice frowned, feeling the stress of too much questioning. Questioning the plan or the organization was never a good idea, particularly once you reached a clearance rank that she had.
Thankfully, Clarice knew the way to relieve that stress and doubt.
