The infant stared up at the man. The man was dressed in a uniform with a
"Major Changes" label and a name tag that read "Don."
Major Changes, always constantly monitoring its computer system, had
alerted him almost immediately to the error that had left Ben both physically
and mentally an infant.
"Oh, this won't be difficult to repair," Don said, staring at the error warning
flashing on the screen.
The man reached down and picked up the baby boy. "Sorry about this," he
said. "Sometimes a bug gets into our systems, but there's no bug than I can't
work out. We'll have you back in no time."
Baby Ben grabbed at the man's thumb. The infant gurgled pleasantly as he
grabbed the man thumb.
The man brought up Ben's profile saved on the screen. He smiled as he read
over the details. "You sound like quite a guy," he commented. "I can't wait to
see what you look like all grown up."
The baby squirmed in his arms. Don studied the screen. "I can change one
thing at a time. Do I restore your mental age first or your physical age?"
Ben only cooed and continued to hold onto Don's thumb.
