[Players cannot leave until the game is won]
Frank sighed. “When you said game night, I never expected something like this.”
Jeff began to apologize but was soon stopped by Abby, who simply said, “I don’t know why you’re all getting so worked up. This was explained in the instructions.”
Jeff sighed and took his seat. “I guess I didn’t take it that seriously...”
“I picked this up at some kitschy magic shop at the mall. How was I supposed to know it was the real deal?”
“God dammit.” Beth cursed. “Why didn’t you just stay with me when I was looking for that blouse!”
“Sex? Might be funny to see what it does if we leave it on.” He mocked.
“How was I supposed to know it would do something like this?!” She cried.
Jeff wanted to blame her for suggesting that he go to the shop in the first place, but knew from the drive back that she had no memory of it.
He sighed. “If it bothers you that much, the instructions said you can discard a token to go back to normal.”
She looked up and wiped her eyes... “But... What if it just grows back on my next turn?”
“She’s got a point Jeff...” Frank interjected as he poured some tea for himself.
“Besides... If one of us makes it to seven tokens, the game ends and we all go back to normal anyway.”
Beth lowered her arms and sobbed. “I’ll just deal with it...”
Jeff shrugged, “Suit yourself, but don’t get mad if you catch me staring.”
Before she could reply, Abby leaned forward and tapped the screen to start her turn. Everyone watched as the text began to form a new phrase.
[Gain one token]
“Aww yea!” She jeered, “Still normal and in the lead!”
Beth grumbled but didn’t comment.
“Guess I’m up next...” Jeff said as his finger landed on the screen.
The display began to generate the next phrase...
