There was only one voice that Dalton knew who had this ethereal echo when it spoke; the Wraith that was bonded to his soul, Yamato. As for who he once was among the living, Yamato was a renowned samurai that fought during the Satsuma Rebellion, where the ancient samurai fought against a westernized Japanese government, but ultimately lost the conflict. In appearance, Yamato was around the same height as his host, but still beared his scars he had received when he was once one of the living, where several spectral arrows were still lodged in his back, which don't bother him since he's already dead.
But in personality though....Yamato was always much more serious than Dalton, due to the Wraith's training as a samurai. Fortunately, Dalton was able to understand Yamato's language once they were forcefully bonded by the ritual. However, this connection also made Dalton a much better fighter, since his soul was bonded to a refined and elite warrior.
"*sigh* Yeah....I still am, Yamato. I guess you can that we really were made for each other." Dalton said, in response to the Wraith behind him. "Then you should start forgetting about her-" Yamato answered, causing the Wraith-Walker to snap at the ghostly samurai out of anger, as Dalton quickly turned around to face Yamato and growled, "Forget my ass! I mean, have you even seen how Jen was behaving toward that Kyle bastard and his goons? She didn't even want to go with them in the first place! "
Although he was acting out of both rage and love, Dalton did some valid points toward the Wraith, making the ghostly samurai ponder a little on Kyle's motives, especially if he was claiming that he was the heir to the legacy of Santa Claus, and the reasons why Jennifer would run away from such a man. "You might think it would be best to forget her, but I'm not letting Jennifer stay with such a freaking douchebag like Kyle!" Dalton growled, furiously walking toward his cabinet, which was where his weapons and equipment were kept, including his sharpened longsword and dagger, which was once a longsword but was broken in two, turning it into a makeshift dagger, along with his custom compound bow.
From seeing how undeterred his host was, Yamato could see that Dalton was very determined to get Jennifer back safely, and out of Kyle Claus's clutches. But as Dalton fastened the straps on his metal plated vambraces and greaves, Yamato spoke to the Wraith-Walker once more and said, "So, you still intend on rescuing your beloved, don't you?" "Exactly. No matter what you say is going to stop me from going, even if I have to drag you by your ghostly legs, Yamato." Dalton plainly answered, as he strapped a quiver full of arrows onto his back, along with sheathing his longsword into the sheath holster on his back, and his dagger into another sheath holster positioned behind his right shoulder blade alongside his sheathed longsword.
From there, he then folded up his compound bow and holstered it into a sheath hanging from his hips. Finally, Dalton put on what appeared to be a somewhat tattered and torn dark blue cape, which had a thick fur coat stitched into the cape's interior for warmth. After all, if Kyle actually was who he claimed to be, then Dalton would have to wear some winter-type clothing for the perilous journey ahead.
Knowing that he had no choice either way, Yamato dissipated back into Dalton's body, as the Wraith-Walker walked out the door, calling in a few favors to make the journey to save Jennifer possible.
