Helen, Jenny and Marsha felt fright and being then equine their species they had the urge to run, as take flight from a horrible situation. They ran, galloping on all fours, Helen taking the lead as Jenny was next, followed by whimpering still, Marsha.
They ran, their nostrils sucking in great droughts of air to power each a body growing stronger and more dignified for being then a female donkey.
Their fears began to fade and a strange delight began to engulf them, they were a herd, of three were enough to consider as a herd to their addled minds.
Helen slowed to a trot after running flat-out for more than a mile.
Jenny thought to take the lead, but Helen used her new teeth to give a nip-bite as the passing furry buttocks of her friend.
Marsha was the greater friend and when Jenny turned to fight with Helen, Marsha stepped between the two angry jennets.
"Hee-Haw," cried Helen, as an angered Jenny then tried to bite the go-between.
"Hee-Haw each previous girlfriend hollered at the others, as milling around in a circle of anger and hate, Helen stopped suddenly. She stood very still, raising her muzzle high at the breeze, her big nose knew the scent of a male equine. Her friends stood in wonderment of Helen, but they followed her when she took off at a gallop, following the scent to its origin.
