You turn around to see Mark standing there in the doorway, holding a couple of glasses of white wine. He hands one to your mother and sits down next to her. You suddenly blush and feel guilty for what you said before. You see how happy your Mom is with him and find yourself wondering if you've been too hard on Mark.
"I'm sorry," you stammer, feeling nervous. "I didn't mean it."
"I think you did, but that's okay. I haven't made a good impression, have I?"
"Well..." you start to say but are interrupted by Mark.
"I know I haven't. But I hope I can change that. I know it hasn't been a long time since the divorce and that you're probably having trouble dealing with that, but I just want to be your friend okay?" replied Mark.
You nod. "So, where are we going to dinner tonight?"
"There's a new steakhouse that just opened that I've been dying to try. Sound good?"
You turn to Nick and you both nod in agreement.
"Good, get cleaned up and we'll go." Mark took a sip of his wine and took a hold of your Mothers hand as the two watched you and Nick go inside.
You and Nick go inside and up to your room. You pull off your shirt and put on a cleaner and slightly nicer one while Nick sits down on your bed and watches.
"So, Mark seems nice," says Nick, breaking the silence.
"Yeah, he does. Which is surprise because until now, I really didn't like him. Maybe he's right, I just didn't give him a chance."
"Yeah, maybe."
"Come on, let's go," you reply and you both head back downstairs.

On the way home from the restaurant, you are seated in the backseat of Mark's SUV, with Nick next to you. You suddenly realize Mark isn't taking you and your Mom back to your house, but instead out of town.
"Where are we going?" you ask.
"I'm taking you all to my house," replied Mark.
"Oh," you reply. You watch as the car turns off the road down a long gravel driveway surrounded by dense forest on either side. After awhile, the car comes to a clearing, revealing Mark's rather impressive house. He pulls up in front of the garage and you all get out.
"Now, I brought you all out here because I need to tell you something."
"Oh god, you're getting married," you reply without even stopping to think about it.
Mark pauses for a second and glares at you. You immediately regret saying that. "No...well, maybe some day, but no. I have a confession to make. I was the one who bit you that night at the Animal Hospital. I was the one that made you a werewolf."
Your heart sinks. You look to your mom. She smiles and nods, confirming that she knew. "You knew? This whole time and said nothing?"
"It's okay, honey." She gives you a look of reassurance.
Your head is spinning. You're not sure what to think.
"And I understand you shared the gift with Nick, which is fine. Just as I shared it with your mother," said Mark, glancing to your mother.
You're in a state of shock. "Oh. Okay...well, what do we do now?"
"Well, we thought..." starts your mother
