The program returned from it's commercial break with Clarence Fishborne appearing at the in a single shot to introduce the next segment of his in-depth report on the worldwide revelation of the existence of werewolves. He faced the camera and exuded confidence inherent in a news reporter as he began the second portion of the telecast.
"In the first portion of our report we introduced Karl Hurtz who was present at the incident that revealed the truth about werewolves to the world and in fact, it turns out, knew the woman in question. What started as a single incident lit a firestorm of controversy, hate and differing opinions that no one could have anticipated. Joining us now in the second half is an ardent werewolf supporter who was one of the first people to come out in vocal support through a series of YouTube videos that quickly went viral that led to speaking engagements and appearances nationwide. Here to discuss his experiences as well as why he decided to come out as such a vocal supporter is Nate Anderson!"
The report cut to a wide shot, revealing Karl was still on the panel as Nate walked onto the stage. Nate was a bit of a chubby guy, wearing eyeglasses, a dress shirt, blue jeans and sneakers. Clarence stood up and shook Nate's hand in greeting and then directed him to sit next to Karl. Nate sat down to the right of Karl and the two exchanged and handshake as well.
"Thank you so much for coming on the show Nate."
"Thank you so much for having me Karl."
"Now, I want to start by taking you back to the night that clip was released. What was your first reaction?"
"Honestly? I believe my first reaction was no (bleep)ing way." Nate let out a chuckle and then blushed a little when he realized he just swore on TV.
"You posted your first video exactly five days later. What provoked you to make such an outspoken stance?"
"If you'll remember Clarence, that was the same day they were running the story about the three werewolves captured by a mob that were chained up and burned alive. It just infuriated me and I had to do something about it. At the time, I was living in Minnesota and this was several states away in Indiana, so I made that video calling out the perpetrators, calling for justice." Nate could feel the tears of rage and sadness welling up again. He wiped them away and looked back at Clarence. "Sorry."
"No, it's okay," he replied. "You seemed to have so much passion for the cause, I have to wonder do you personally know any werewolves?"
"I've met quite a few as I traveled around to different speaking engagements as well as online, yes."
"But you seemed so passionate about it from the get go, did you know any prior to making the video?"
Nate hesitated for a moment. "You know Clarence, as a gay man I know what it's like to live like a second class citizen in the country and until recently, that's where my place was. Why would I not fight just as hard for others in the same situation?"
"Yes, but I get the feeling you're dodging the que..."
"I did and I do." Nate's voice got deeper as he stared right at Clarence. "My life long friend Brandon, he's a werewolf."
"And how long had you known?" Clarence was finally getting to what he wanted, a scoop.
"The day after the video aired. The one of Sally Yeller. He asked me if I'd seen it and what my thoughts were. I told him I thought it was amazing and then he just came out to me and told me. I was in shock naturally that he had manged to keep this from me for so long, especially given my vocal interest in anything werewolf related." Nate gave a bit of a smirk at the end.
"And what about after that?"
"What do you think I said after that Clarence? That I wanted to see it, of course. I wanted to watch him change."
"And how was that for you?" asked Karl, jumping into the conversation.
"It was amazing. I imagine it'd be quite a shock for you Karl, not having emotionally prepared yourself for it, but I really rather enjoyed it. It was beautiful and honestly kinda hot." Nate couldn't help but grin.
"You seem rather smitten Nate. Does Brandon know how you feel?"
"I would hope so." replied Nate without thinking.
"Does that mean you two are..."
"Oh man, I can't believe I outed him twice in one night. Yes, Clarence, the two of us are together." Nate then turned to the camera. "And just to set the record straight, I had Brandon's permission to speak about us tonight so everything said was with his okay."
"I have one more question for you tonight Nate. You have stated you are a werewolf supporter and after this interview I would dare say enthusiast. If a werewolf were to offer to bite you, to make you a werewolf, would you say yes?"
"You presume they haven't already asked, Clarence." Nate gave Clarence a knowing look. "Seriously though, I'd be lying if I haven't fantasized about it, especially now that I know it's real. But fantasy and reality are two very different things. It's hard to say how I would react until I was faced with the actual choice."
"Thank you Nate." The camera then cut to a single shot of Clarence again. "We've heard from one of the witnesses of the incident and one of the vocal supporters of the werewolf rights cause so far tonight. We will be joined by both a real life werewolf and a self described werewolf hater when we return after these messages."
